So here's the story of my ownership of this lifted and modified 66 Ford Bronco. I purchased "BIG BLUE" March 25th 2013 off of eBay from the great state of Illinois. The owner had owned the truck since 1996 and did all the modifications to it for use as a mud drag racing vehicle around that area of the country. Needless to say as you can see in the pictures it made a great looking vehicle for this purpose. I was going thru a phase back then and saw that these type of vehicles were going up in value and bought this 66 and a 74 with the hopes of restoring and selling them on for a profit before the market cooled off again. I decided to restore the 74 first and its finally close to completing. I have just one small problem and that is "money". To get over the finish line on the 74 Big Blue has to go to a good home for someone else to enjoy. I have stored Big Blue indoors since 2013 and other than running it every 2 or 3 months it has notbeen used since I bought it. Now on to the details of Big Blue. The original motor and manual transmission is long gone and has been replaced with a 302 v8 backed up by a C4 automatic. The previous owner said it has a small cam and other than headers, intake and off road edlebrock carb no other mods were done on the 302. I just recently had the carb rebuilt, installed a new battery, plugs, starter and Big Blue roared to life and other than some final tuning it runs just fine and sounds awesome. The C4 transmission has a B&M shift kit and shifter mounted to the floor and works just as it should. The C4 is connected to a Dana 20 and 9" rear end. The gearing and type of axels are unknown to me. I have only driven Big Blue around my parking lot since I bought it. The suspension has a 3" lift and the bodyhas a 3" lift done by the previous owner. He also welded in shock hoops and installed Rancho shocks on all 4 corners. Solid steering arms with heim joints, rock crawler steering box with quick turn and front power disc brakes on the front were also installed by the previous owner. All this is rolling on a brand new set of 38.5 bogger tires and new bullet hole aluminum wheels. The frame was painted by the previous owner so no rust or bare metal. The body is in good condition and was painted just before I bought it. The paint is good enough for its purpose and is very presentable. The inside has been rhino lined in matching blue except where the floor was cut for the shifter. The seats are all weather in good conditionwith 4 point harnesses installed. The lap belts arebolted to the floor but the shoulder belts will need to be secured. The doors and tailgate were fabricated by the previous owner for the purpose and are framed with square tubing and skinned with sheet metal. The tailgate drops down but the doors are just screwed in place. The stock fuel tank is long gone and a round fuel cell is positioned where the rear seat would be. When painted the underside of the body was painted black to match the frame and seal the metal. There is very little rustwhich only appears to be inside the wheel wells and is pictured. The dash was the only thing not painted for some reason and is pictured. The aftermarket oil gauge works and is steady at 30psi and above, the condition of the speedo is unknown but is there. Because it was used for offroad there are no headlights, turn signals, or tail lights installed but all the wiring and plugs are there. So now you know as much as I do about Big Blue. The only things that I have observed that need attention is the front hub seals are leaking, the transfer case shifter is loose andthebrakes need to be bled. I have mostly just stored this bronco for the last 3 years and have not done much to it. All in all depending on what the new owner wants to do with it in the future it is a very solid vehicle and can be taken in any build direction to include putting back on the road. I do have a title so no problem with getting it registered in all 50 states. I am selling the bronco at No Reserve and has no warranty written or implied. However, if the buyer at time of delivery whether delivered by me or picked up in person feels that I have deceived them in any way I will refund the deposit minus any fuel cost if I deliver it and we can part ways no questions asked. I can deliver Big Blue anywhere in the lower 48 states for $1.00 per loaded mile on an open tilt bed car hauler, or meet half way or whatever the new owner needs me to do to help the delivery or transfer of the Bronco.
