I'm having to let go of something I dreamed of owning for the next 25 years. I searched long and hard to find this Corvette that I purchased 6 years ago. When I bought it the car had 6,750 miles on it. I wanted a car that I could have fun with and not have to start off doing a lot of restoration work. However, the first thing I had to do was replace the tires, it still had the original tires from when it came off the dealer lot. The tires were all dry rotted and I feared having one of them split open so I couldn't drive it much until I got the new Eagle tires. These have only around 2,000 miles on them. Once I started driving it well you guessed it the engine wasn't running smooth because a couple of the fuel injectors were clogged from old gas in the lines. If you know anything about Corvette's for the amount of work it takes to get to one you might as well replace them all. I had that done by a garage that ONLY works on Corvette's and nothing else. Now the car runs great and drives smooth.
With less than 10,000 miles on the car as you can imagine there is literally nothing to have to do to the car or repair on it. The only thing I know that is "broken" is the motor for the passenger power seat does not work. Frankly I don't see a point in having it work anyway. It is not like there will be someone sitting in the back. Oh, and the center brake light does not work. I looked into what it would take to fix it but a long time Corvette guy I know said that they take more to fix it than the benefit of having it. I tried changing the bulbs but evidently it is in the wiring. Plus another of the historic "problems" with design of the car is the radio has a separate amplifier on each speaker. These tend to go out which is what happened on this car. Eventually I was going to just get an aftermarket radio and have that installed. The radio works but the sound is not great. The car does have cruise control but I have never tried it, never taken that long of a trip that I needed to turn it on.
I know people don't believe in aftermarket items on classics but since the awesome body kit was already installed on this car before I bought it that has already ruined it for a purist. Frankly if you are going to give a car some attitude it might as well be on something cool like a Corvette!!! I just installed a brand new battery and had to take the side molding off, that is where I took the picture of the Eckler's decal showing who made the body kit. They did a great job plus the paint work matches perfectly. The only bad thing is the car sits even lower now and someone before me rolled into a parking curb and cracked the paint on the front chin. Nothing is broken so they must have just tapped it but it did crackle the paint. I wasn't going to worry with fixing it, my luck as soon as I would get it done I'd run into something the next week.
As you can see the seats are prefect, there are no cuts or wear marks from people sliding down the seat when they get in the car. I make people sit in the car first then swing their legs in that way the don't put stress on the edges of the seat. Carpet it perfect too, as you would imagine. I have taken this to many car shows and it shows very well. It is not a "classic" so it's not going to win any awards but it still draws its fair share of people who love to see such a low mileage car in such perfect condition for it's age. The younger kids just love that spoiler on the back deck. Car comes with a cover too for keeping it clean between shows.
The car is stored in Georgia so if you are deciding on picking it up or having it shipped it will be from zip code 30067. Pick up will have to be arranged well in advance so that I can meet someone at the place where I have it stored. Just so that I've said it, the car will not leave until it has been paid for in full. I can store it for up to 30 days after the auction if you need time to make arrangements. Depending on how close you are to Atlanta and if you are willing to pay mileage I have a truck and trailer and can bring it to you. $500.00 deposit is required so that I know those competing for this beauty are serious buyers.
If you have questions I will be happy to answer them. Because I travel the best thing is to email me and I can generally respond no later than that same evening. Car is totally stock with the exception of the body kit. The motor, transmission, gauges, etc are all as it came from the factory.
