I have owned this truck since 2008, I bought it from a mechanic who told me the engine and transmission had just been rebuilt. It needed exterior rust fixed and a paint job which I did. The paint job was my first after watching my dad for years paint, unfortunately he had passed away that year so I attempted it myself. The paint looks good but went on a little dry so there is orange peel in it, also I used the cheap duplicolor acrylic and it is know for that. Basically it looks like a matte finish which a lot of people like. The truck turns heads no matter where you go people love to stop and tell you about the one they had or their dad had, its nice.
I have a file folder about an inch thick, that will come with the truck with all the receipts of everything I have purchased for the truck, just recently I took it into a local mechanic and had them look it over. We ended up replacing the following:
Pinion shaft seal front
Brake fluid flush and refill
Both rear wheel bearings
Drain and filled the transfer case
Replaced rear wheel seal that was leaking
Rebuilt the rear drive line
Coolant, flush and replace
New Radiator and cap
New intake manifold gasket
Power steering flush
New steering gear
New gear set, rear ring and pinion
Over 5000.00 in parts and labor.
This truck runs great and starts right up in even in the dead of winter, it has been in a garage when not on the road since I bought it. It runs straight and true and 70 MPH on the freeway. The only issue I can think of is a few chips in the paint since I painted it and the passenger door sticks. Heater works good, it has the vents for factory air but no parts under the hood. Engine compartment could use a good cleaning.
I have never had it off road or even put it in 4 wheel drive, the transfer case shifts and the locking hubs move so I assume all that works but can't guarantee it.
Reserve is not much higher than the starting bid, I’m not entirely convinced I want to sell this truck, my daughters will be mad, but I just bought a Polaris Ranger Crew for us to use at out mountain property so I need more room. The Blazer gets driven a few times a year, so if I can get the reserve or higher I will be able to let it go. Its been a great truck and it will be missed, but I know someone can get more use out of it then we do.
Oh it also comes with a soft topper soft top, I will try and find a picture of it since the hard top is on for the winter.
