I bought this TR from the second owner in 2010. At that time it had not been licensed since 1986. I like to think of the car as a Survivor/Driver. when I first saw the car I knew that everything would have to be gone thru - that said I also realized that every piece of the car was there. Every light. every trim piece. every gauge. every switch. even the seats although they were melting into the floors. All of the paint is original except for the lower portion of the left wing and the boot lid. Fast Forward - today she runs like a top. Everything on this car has been rebuilt. refurbished. rebushed. or replaced to get her running and back out on the street. All of the brake and fuel lines have been replaced. along with all 'U' joints. diff mounts and seals. master cylinders. caliper and brake cylinder kits. carburetor and fuel pump overhauls. clutch hydraulics. new exhaust front to back. gas tank and radiator boiled and flushed. heater and fan. wiper motor - all working now. The engine shows no sign of ever being taken apart - I actually think that the mileage showing on the odometer. 44. 54 is actual. I have put 1. 69 miles on the car since putting it back on the road in the spring of 2012. Last year I installed a new top. albeit for a TR6. and installed a new carpet set. The wire wheels have been media blasted and painted. The floors and frame have gone thru major reconstruction. If you are afraid of rust this is probably not the TR4 for you. The fenders and outer rockers could use work. The seats are wrong - from an MG. and the wood dash is gone. Still - a great fun car to drive.
