After World War II. Triumph became one of the major manufacturers of English sports cars. The early TR series were a tad on the ugly side but were a lot of fun and handled fantastically but didn’t have much power. This lack of power continued until Triumph came up with the TR6. which had it all. The TR6 was a great driving car and many English collectors preferred the TR6 over the rival sports car the Jaguar roadster. Today nobody needs to tell collectors that the English (and also Italian and German) sports cars are on what looks like sky rocketing prices into the future. Here at MissChiTown we feel that the TR6 is not only a truly handsome sports car but has the traditional fine handling characteristics that Triumphs are known for. Yes it is true that most of the Triumph sports cars were a delight to drive. so much so that the wheels were driven off most of them. Finding one today that is in truly fabulous condition is a rare commodity. The car in this ad is a chassis off restoration with the original engine that was rebuilt and has some upgrades to the carburetion. Where do you find a chassis off restoration on a TR6? Most of them that look good are just cosmetically redone and do not have the credentials that this car has for a fanatical restoration. The following is a description of the car in the owner’s own words: First of all the seller has stated that he is not a big collector but knows quality when he sees it and he was impressed with this 1974 Triumph TR6 when he first saw it and still feels the same today. However circumstances have caused him to offer the car for sale although he had intended to keep it forever. The car had a frame off. rotisserie restoration about seven years ago and the seller will provide the new owner with the photos of the process. The car has 62. 41miles on the odometer. Car is painted dark blue with a gorgeous upgraded tan leather interior. While upgraded with leather the same pattern and pleating were used to replicate the original interior look. The seller also says that the leather seats are extremely comfortable. Beautiful wood dash. Upgraded steering wheel. Upgraded MP3. AM/FM Stereo & Speakers Under the dash are toggle switches for an electric fan. disconnect battery switch and a kill switch. The original engine was rebuilt but the following upgrades were added. Upgraded carburetor with special filters. Fuel Injection. Aluminum radiator. Spin on oil filter. Standard Triumph 4-speed manual transmission. Upgraded front disk brakes. Upgraded Panasport Alloy Wheels Convertible top & boot. Seller says the car is straight and has virtually no rust. Seller says when he has had it up on a lift it looks great on the underside. The seller says the car is a very great running car and has driven the car on 200-300 mile round trips. Starts. stops and runs great! Seller said that everything with the gauges. electronics are all in working condition. The seller has set a very conservative reserve on this car to get it sold but be aware that the reserve is considerably less than the amount that he has in the car.
