We've seen matching trailers and toy cars placed on dashes; but when have you ever seen a matching custom Chopper paired with the vehicle? Especially one designed to the likes of the 427 Shelby Cobra. About the Car: 1992 Goben CobraVIN #: 1M1AJ87H92M000211 G Cobra Cars. Inc. was established in 1990 as an ambitious endeavor to manufacture road ready tributes to the 427 Shelby Cobra. The Goben Cobras were maufactured in a factory established specifically to procude these tribute vehicles. These cars were issued unique VIN #'s and built to meet federal safety and emission standards with 95% of the components available from the shelves. Due to their construction process meeting federal requirements. bearing a factory warranty honored at all Chevrolet & Ford dealers and holding unique government issued VIN #'s. these were considered to be true production vehicles; not replicas. The fiberglass bodies & tubular frames were built out of the Goben factory near Madison. WI. The front and rear suspension and drivetrain are from a Mustang and the cowl. windshield. dash and doors are from GM J body vehicles. Buyers were able to choose between a Ford 351 powerplant and a 250HP GM V8 or the 350HP GM V8 for $999 more. Only 15 examples were built in 1991. starting at $39. 95 ($66. 00 by today's standards). as production ceased after Goben was sued by Carroll Shelby. This lawsuit led to the majority of Goben Cobras being retrieved and destroyed; and now only four reportedly exist. This particular vehicle. being the only tan interior Goben Cobra remaining. features the "limited" Goben Competition Dash and is 1 of 7 vehicles that were built with the 350HP Chevrolet V8. The engine was a $999 upgrade option. as was the leather seats. This Cobra came with the high performance 3 speed automatic transmission and was reported by the creator to go 0 - 60 in under 5 seconds. This particular vehicle features all of the modern amenities that lack in other cars that resemble the iconic Shelby Cobra. You will find A/C. rollup windows. safety rails in the doors. impact bumpers and this one was built to meet even California emission testing. About the Chopper: 2005 Legends SSC Premier - Shelby CobraVIN #: 1L9SW2886X5E362093 Much like the Goben Cobra. this SSC Premier Chopper is one of a kind. Like G Cobra Cars. Inc. . Legends Motorsports of Edwardsburg. MI came and went with the flicker of a flame. During the large chopper craze that took place in the first decade of the 2000's. Legends Motorsports set out to build unique custom choppers in limited proudction runs. each with a specific purpose and theme. This 2005 model was 1 of 300 units set for production and it was built for the very reason it is being offered here today; to be displayed side by side with a Cobra. This SSC Premier Chopper has a mere 2000 miles. It is fitted with a 98ci S&S V-twin engine and a 6 speed manual H&E transmission. The engine is fitted with an S&S Super Carb and pushed by a left mounted belt drive. The rear tire is a 250mm Metzerler outfitted with 18" Machine Performance Wraith Wheel in the back. The 21" Machine Performance Wraith Wheel in the front is wrapped in a Marathon ME880 tire. The RC Components Apache 300 series frame has been powder coated black with chrome finishes on the majority of the remainder of the bike including the handlebars and triple trees. A unique feature to this vehicle is it's left side single swing arm. This allows the right side of the wheel to remain completely open. exposing the beautiful Wraith wheel.
