Mercedes Benz
300SD Turbo Diesel

VIN: WDBCB20D7FA141607

Here’s another desirable, reat-running & driving Mercedes diesel we’ve just acquired for our Ebay customers. This nice 300SD sold new at W.I Simonson Mercedes on Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica back in May, 985 but has spent the majority of its life in the great Pacific Northwest Seattle, ashington.A family member of the original owner kept the car for most of the past 25 years after moving to Seattle. It was reluctantly passed it on to the dealer that sold it to us a few months ago in order tofind the next caretaker. From the moment I laid eyes on this nice sedan, t was obvious the car has been treated with respect and care over the years.I will be sure to include the original manuals tucked away in the glovebox, n their plastic sleeve, hen the car leaves their warehouse. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. My name is Carousse Aupont and my direct phone number is (407)399-1889. You’re welcome and encouraged to make an appointment or you can send a company to inspect thisnicecar.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Ever driven one of these Mercedes with the powerful 3.0 liter turbocharged diesel engine?Where else will you find this kind of luxury, intage style, afety, echanical reliability AND terrific (25+MPG) fuel economy wrapped up in one great ride?Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway.I’ve always considered the W126 chassis cars constructed through the late -80’s as some of the last hand-built, ruly high-quality Mercedes and have heard many others say the same thing!Take a look at the photos and I’m sure you’ll agree with me what a nice car this is. What you see is the result of a wash and vacuum only.Climb over, nder and throughout and I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Please, this car hates rust and you won’t find a thing to worry about. Having spent a lifetime in the Seattle area there’s never been any exposure to corrosion starters.Climb over, nder and all around this car - I know you’ll come up smiling!!NO nasty rust bubbles beneath the paint on the edges, nder the doors or corrosion holes around the wheel wells! After 31 years the car can benefit of a new factory re-painted but its up to the new caretaker. As you can see I have more then one of these cars, ut this is the # 1 one.

Its a 1985 MB 300 SD W126 long body, t has ABS, eadrest adjust electronically, he turbo is ready to go take a look of its position, ot like the others. Real Leather.

CONDITION:

In total, his is a clean, ell-cared-for, moke-free Mercedes. I take pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about the car as possible. Accordingly, ere is a list of the good and also a few small things needing attention: take literally two or three seconds to heat the glow plugs when starting cold and the peppy 3.0L inline five diesel engine starts immediately with only few moments of starter cranking!Theautomatic transmission shiftsjust as it should with no slippage. The car idles, uns and drives like a Mercedes is supposed to – strong, mmediateoil pressure, trong battery and charging system, o overheating, o brake pull or perceived alignment issues!Last week I put on almost 400 miles freeway cruising at 90+ MPH for several hours. If you are familiar with this model, ou’ll notice the air cleaner assembly is different than on most other 300 series turbodiesels. This is because the car was built to meet California emissions standards, equiring the factory to locate the turbocharger higher-up to make room for a trap-oxidizer unit and to use a different filter assembly mounted to the left of the radiator instead of on top of the engine. Please also note that it is ABS equipped and has a driver’s airbag; not something found on many mid-eighties cars!

The factory original medium blue metallic paint is about 6.5 out of 10 with a few spots of missing clearcoat and some fading on the metal sunroof.Though I’m no expert, find no evidence of bodywork or accident repair anywhere. The front fenders, ear quarters, oors and floor pans are all very solid; in fact the entire undercarriage is in fine shape for a 31 year-old vehicle! No other real body flaws to point out, ust a few nicks and rock chips as pictured. All the glass is good.I’ve never encounteredMercedes alloy wheelsthat were anything but straight and true. These fit that bill and are wrapped with 205/70R 14 with at least 40-50% tread remaining all around.

Take another good look at my interior shots. Often, ou’ll find worn, isintegrating leather or vinyl seats in vintage Mercedes. This isNOTthe case here. The original real leather covers (including the rear bench) have held up exceptionally well with only a bit of wear on the driver’s seat and the back seat rest as pictured. The odometer not working after nearly 1,500 miles after I bought and registered it in May 2014 but didn't used it much because of another car a 1983 same model that takes all the abuse, achometer and speedometer all work fine. The heater blows warm air when activated. Also, he A/C system Ice cold.

There’s no evidence of any water leakage on the headliner and the power sunroof opens/closes at the push of a dash button. All four electric windows are functioning properly. You will find NO evidence of cigarette smoke here. The carpets are clean and original.Like most vintage Benz stereos, his Becker Grand Prix model is finicky and always come on,and you’ll then have an absolutely great everyday driver!
I wouldn’t hesitate to drive long-distance in this car!As a respectedEbay sellerwith many, any satisfied online buyers, want you to bid with confidence knowing that this Mercedes runs and drives out as it should and it is being properly represented to you! Please don’t be upset if I miss a minor flaw or some small issue comes up.NO used vehicle is ever perfect.Having said that, won’t hesitate to drive this excellent car cross-country!
Please checkmy photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to stop by, nspect the Mercedes and take it for a test drive as it is being sold as-is, here-is with a free & clear State of Florida title. There are NO title brands for any nasty negatives like salvage history, heft or flood damage to cause you concern!Because of the amount of money involved with a vehicle purchase, reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have anynegative feedback. I also ask that potential bidders with a feedback rating of five or fewer transactions onEbaycontact me before placing their bid. Please feel free to contact me directly thru Ebay’s system or, s outlined above, all me at407/399-1889anytime.
