This was the second year for the Road Runner and there wasn’t a lot of change from the previous model. The big change was on the inside that now offered Bucket Seats and Console. The one we have for you is a fresh resto that features the Matching Numbers 383. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior. interior. and driveline of the Plymouth. but first we would like to tell you a little about us. Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned. operated. and own our entire inventory. no consignments. and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So. that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. You would have a hard time finding a car with a straight body. Its laser straight and all the gaps are good as well as the panel fitment. Everything is covered in the Bright Blue Poly that is accented by the White Top and White Stripes. The paint looks very good with a rich shine that is slick to the touch. With it being a Road Runner it has the raised hood with the Black Stripes. At the time of the restoration they replaced all the weather stripping and window seals. The bumpers were also changed along with other trim. To keep the stock look it’s sitting on stock painted wheels with small dish Hub Caps. Next. we will take a look at the interior of the ’69. On the inside it is done like it would have been when new. It’s all done in blue with the correct bucket seats and console with the 4 Speed Shifter. As far as we can tell everything works in the dash right down to the AM radio. It retains the factory seat belts and all the lights work from the dome to the console. Finally. we will take a look at the driveline of the Plymouth. Under the hood everything looks new and is painted as it should be. The engine is the Matching Numbers 383/335 HP Big Block. It’s mated to the Four Speed Trans and 8 ¾” Rear End. The stock manifolds are still there with dual exhaust. It has factory Power Steering and Disc Brakes. When you look under the floors are painted body color with the front end being rebuilt as well as bushings out back. It has a new fuel tank and lines.
