Description

For sale is my 1965 Plymouth Satellite. The car was purchased "as is" roughly one year before my father passed in 2000. I inherited the car with the intention of finishing what he had started. However. I live out of state. and 15 years later nothing has changed. I've decided to let somebody with the time and money and dedication to finish it. It is a PERFECT project car. I currently live in Pennsylvania and the car is located in Cresent. Iowa. just over the border from Omaha where it was purchased. It has been in storage since 2000. My dad was able to begin some work on the car sometime between 1999 & 2000. Of the work completed. The K-member and the front suspension are all restored including aftermarket disc brakes. All the bushings and suspension parts are new. The brake lines were all installed and not just bolted on. The car originally housed a 318. but as the pictures show. there is NO ENGINE included. As for rust. there is very little in the rear quarters. The floors and trunk are solid. By no means is this a rust bucket. and definitely better than average. Again. it's been stored by a friend indoors under lock and key since 2000. The biggest issue with the car is the title. I've already listed it last year & had several buyers back out. There is NO TITLE. I searched everywhere throughout the years to try and find it but with no luck. I cannot have a title issued in the state of Nebraska because there is no engine and therefore ineligible. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU FORSEE THIS AS BEING A DEAL BREAKER!!! Again. I've had several bidders make offers and back out! It's a rare piece of Classic American Muscle that needs to find the right owner to get her back on the road as both myself and my dad would have wanted. I've included general info from Wikipedia:First Generation (1965-1967)When a new. larger Plymouth Fury was introduced for 1965 on Chrysler's full-size C platform. the Plymouth Belvedere name was moved to Plymouth's "new" mid-size line for 1965. in what was really a continuation of Plymouth's full-size 1962–1964 models. The Belvedere Satellite was the top trim model in the series. above the Belvedere I and II. It was only available as a two-door hardtop or convertible. Offered with bucket seats and center console as standard. the Satellite was available exclusively with V8 engines. For 1965. the standard engine was the 273 c. i. d. . and optional choices were the 318. and 361. 383 and 426 "Commando" engines. This 426 had the wedge combustion chamber design. and is not the 426 "Hemi" offered in 1966. The front end was simple: a single headlight on each side. and a grille divided into four thin rectangles laid horizontally. The concurrent Fury was given a "stacked" dual headlight design. The 1965 Satellite 2-door hardtop had a production run of 23. 41. In standard trim the 2-door hardtop weighed 3. 20 lb (1. 60 kg) and cost $2. 12. The convertible saw a production figure of 1. 60 weighing 3. 25 lb (1. 08 kg) and costing $2. 27 in standard trim.
