Description

Too many project cars and no room to keep them all! What I have here is a running driving 1970 base model barracuda. I have owned it for over 5 years now. but have barely been able to put a few thousand miles on it. My original plan was to build a protouring style car out of it. but time is not cooperating. First the good. It is amazingly rust free. There is a small spot in the trunk that has rotted out. visible in the trunk picture in the bottom right. Nowhere else can I find rust. Nothing in the rockers. quarter panels. hood hinges. battery tray. or floorpans. I put a new Ultimate Rides dash in it right after I got it. Converted it to a 3 speaker dash and it was already an AC car. New headliner and carpet from Year one. I also used some old seats from from my other project (70 convert challenger) to get by as the original seats were beyond trashed. 318 engine runs well and has a healthy cam to sound mean. but isn't going to set any horsepower records. New carter competition carb. no Edelbrock Pep Boys special here. I also converted to a late model starter already. 904 automatic trans. but it does have a 8. 75 rear and disc brakes up front. I have a line on a 727 trans. If it comes through it will go with the car. I also have a 5. 7 hemi truck engine with auto trans. wiring. and factory computers that will go with the car as well. The car does have the new woodgrain steering wheel on it now as seen in the pictures. One of the pictures is older with the original wheel. but it has been updated. I also included pics of the floorpans when I was replacing the carpet. so don't be confudes by the conflicting pictures. The car does have seats. carpet. console. etc as seen in the complete pictures. It also has had the gas tank replaced as it looks brand new. but I didn't do it. This is my 4th Ebody and 7th Mopar. so I am pretty familiar with them. Now for the bad. The car is an original hemi orange color as seen in the floorpan pictures. however. nbsp;in its life it has been repainted sassy grass green. blue. and now is flat black. From what I can tell all these paint jobs were on top of each other. with the last flat black being a homestyle quickie. The front grill has been pieced together poorly and will need to be replaced. All trim and chrome will need to be replated. polished. etc. By no means a basket case. but it is not a car that you could buff the paint and resell. If you want a show car it will need a total teardown and rebuild. I would have no problem driving it anywhere. I hate to say it. but I am not in a money crunch to sell. I just realize I may never have time to do this car right. My other projects include a protouring 70 convertible challenger with corvette suspension. 1970 datsun 240 z turbo car. 76 CJ7. 85 kawasaki GPZ 750 turbo bike. so you can see I have my hands full with toys. Not interested in any trades. Any questions sent may be subject to being posted as additional useful info or used as examples of what not to ask. For the guys who are going to offer me $10K cash. nbsp;their Harley. or a boat. I can go ahead and preanswer your question now. Thanks. but no thanks. On Feb-21-15 at 10:23:04 PST. seller added the following information:For those of you not interested in the 5. 7 hemi engine and trans I will knock $1500 off the buy it now price. On Feb-22-15 at 16:35:19 PST. seller added the following information:lowered buy it now price. Also when showing the car today to locals I noticed the trunk pan will need the entire center section replaced. not just one corner. The rusty part is from water sitting in the low center of the trunk sometime in its life. Again-I have not found any rust in the quarter panels. extensions. doors. battery tray. hood hinge mounts. floorpans. or undercarriage. The trunk floor would be the ONLY piece of sheetmetal repair needed on this car.
