1957 PLYMOUTH 2-DOOR SUBURBAN
This car needs full restoration but is a rarer 2-door wagon model. I know everyone says their old car is rare, but these are pretty hard to find. I'm not sure what the production numbers were but they are just not around and I've never seen one at a car show. I've had this car for a long time, and my intention was to someday build it into a car similar to the '57 nomad rat wagon pictured in the listing. This wagon is a good base for a custom project, rat rod, gasser clone or? Christine fury wagon clone? I've included some pics of some rat wagons and stuff. I was wanting to do it like the chevy in the video, with open frontend, radiused rear fenders, and drag tires. You don't see that very often. Clear title. The car is fugly in the pics but it's not as bad as it looks. Not much exterior rust. No frame rust. Thanks.
MECHANICAL
This has a v8 with three speed manual on the column. The motor turns over but I did not try to get it running. It looks complete with the exception of the air cleaner. Brakes don't work. It rolls and steers. Tires are not nice.
BODY
The body needs full restoration. It needs floorpan work. The floors in the feet areas are rusted. The cargo area floor is fine. New floorpans are probably made that would fit this and should be the same as a fury coupe. Floor supports look fine. The front fenders have rust in the low rear corners and eyebrows. Outer rockers have rust-through. Rear quarters have rust behind the wheels. No frame rust. The hood is just sitting on the car because the hinges were bent so I took them off. It will be secured for transportation. The car comes with an extra drivers door and tailgate. I had another 2-door wagon at one time that was wrecked and I kept the extra parts for this car. The body repair panels that this car needs are most likely the same as a coupe, and probably reproduced. I haven't checked on this car specifically but most of that stuff is available now and the '57 furys are very popular cars. Rear side windows are sliders for the passengers. I believe there are spare side windows but I'll have to double check. It does come with an extra door and tailgate. I may have extra curved windows too but not sure where they are. The ones on it are fine though.
INTERIOR
The interior looks complete but needs full restoration. It still has the original front seat which is nice because it's a coupe seat with folding backs so you can get in the rear seat.
This classic station wagon is sold as-is. Feel free to ask questions. Thanks
