Hello and thanks for clicking on my '68 Barracuda coupe!A great looking car that is on consignmentto my dealership from the elderly owner, who had it built a few years ago.
This Barracuda was purchased by the owner out of Texas and was in nearly rust free condition at that time. It was then taken down to bare metal for a repaint in Chrysler Deep Ocean Blue and it looks fantastic on the car! A 1983 Mopar 360 V-8 block was secured and sent out to our local Mopar expert for a build which included a bore to .30 over, I beam rods, KB 10.7 to 1 pistons, Edelbrock aluminum heads, General Kinetic A6H-264-S camand a SCAT forged 4340 crank. She breathes through an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, headers with Flowmaster mufflers and out through 3" polished stainless exhaust extensions. All that power is directed through a console shifted, rebuilt904 automatic transmision with shift kitand cooled by a Griffin 4 core aluminum radiator with thermostatically controlled electric fan.
She also features power steering and power disc brakes, Cragar mags with radial tires, Grant GT wood steering wheel and modern sound system with amp & speaker box in the trunk.
She starts, runs &drives without any issues, funny noises, smoke or other problems. She stops straight without fading or pulling, completely drama-free. The car handles well too, with the oversized wheel & tire package: Firestone Indy 500 Firehawk tires with P275/60R15/1070S on the rear and P215/65R15/95S on the front.
This was originally an AC car, however the guts of the system were removed to save weight and complexity. The ductwork & vents remain for anyone that would like to reinstall the system. The interior was redone well but does lack a few details like some switchgear, matching arm rests, etc. that are easily sourced.
Of course, none of that is needed to have fun driving the car, and that is what it was built for. This Barracuda is fast and loud and tons of fun!
A few minor things I have noted since the car has been in my care: If she sits for a couple of weeks, the battery gets low, there are a couple of cracks in the paint on the hood only & she drips a few drops of this and that on the floor. Much of the trim on the car is original and shows the mild patina of age that you would expect from a 48 year old car.
I see no reason why the new owner couldn't fly-in and drive home in this sweet Barracuda!Remember that since this car is on consignment, I cannot take any trades.
Please contact me with any questions, photo requests, offers, or to schedule a test drive. Thanks Again for looking and Good Luck!
