1972 Plymouth Duster CloneBack in early October 2014 my neighbors sold their home in Rockton and moved to North Carolina due to a job transfer. Right before they moved they sold me their 1972 Plymouth Duster Clone. The car was originally a Plymouth Valiant but was later professionally restored and converted to a Plymouth Duster. This is a non-numbers matching car. No expense was spared when this car was restored it is in excellent shape inside and out. I agreed to purchase the car the day they were moving. You will see in my pictures the car being loaded onto a Flat Bed and it was shipped to my Automotive Repair Shop where it was completely gone through by my mechanics. In case your interested I am a small car dealer near Rockford Illinois and love old muscle cars. My interests lean towards Old Pontiac Muscle cars of which I have several. With that being said I am not all that familiar with Mopar and do not own any in my collection other than this Duster. This car was stored in my neighbors garage for the last 13 years. It has not been on the road for 8 years and they originally purchased it 2002. You can view the picture of the Illinois temporary license tag that expired in 2008. This car has never been out in the snow or rain and was my neighbors baby. The car received a complete mechanical evaluation by my shop. All fluids were changed. it was tuned up. it has full tank of fresh premium gas and it is in the process of getting a new Mopar battery installed. According to my certified mechanic no expense was spared when it came to the previous engine rebuild. The previous owner told my neighbor they spent over $7000 on the motor and that was over 15 years ago. I have a list of what was done to the motor so the potential new owner has a better understanding of just how powerful this motor now is! I can fax it to all interested parties. The body on this car is in excellent shape. Except for a few blisters on the flat back hood scoop I would give it and 8 although I am no expert. The interior is in good shape overall with no tears or rips in the seats. The black old school carpet is in near perfect shape and their is matching Duster floor mats to finish off the precise detail of this car. I believe the radio is an aftermarket Pioneer or Sony and it does work. This car is fun to drive and sounds fantastic. It is a real eye catcher when driving down the road. It has been meticulously detailed and is all ready to go. We are a licensed shipper and can assist in getting your new car home. Additionally we welcome all personal visits and mechanical inspections prior to bidding or during the auction. All qualified sales at the conclusion of the auction are final. Keep in mind this car is 42 years old. I try and describe these old cars as best I can. I would love to add this car to my collection but I just do not have the room. S. from 1970to 1976 model years. Following the design changes on the Valiant models. the Duster also received a new hood. grille. front fenders. bumpers. and taillights for 1973. The taillights on previous years mounted from the inside and had a flush appearance. Starting in 1973. the taillights were mounted from the outside and were trimmed in chrome. These remained unchanged through 1976.
