Up for auction is our 60 Pontiac Safari wagon. This is the first time this car has ever been offered nationally for sale. It was sold new at Metropolitan Pontiac in Denver. Colorado. It has resided in the dry climate of Colorado since. As you may know. Pontiac went above and beyond many other brands at the time to make their cars drive and perform well. Now 55 years later this Safari is still running and driving the way Pontiac intended it to! The odometer reads 13. 72 miles. I am representing the car as having 113. 72 miles but there is no solid documentation. Over the last 55 years this car has been well maintained and retains all of its original sheet metal and has never been severely damaged. The body lines are straight and solid. Looking under the doors. along the rockers inside and out. under the tail gate and inside the door jambs its very solid and not rusty. The floors (just where you're feet would sit) do have a few small pin holes from underneath. The rear floors from the rear seat back are perfect still showing some red oxide. Even the spare tire well is perfectly solid. The bottoms of the front fenders and rear quarter panels are perfectly solid with their original spot welds. It has been repainted its original colors of Berkshire Green with a Shelltone Ivory roof. I would rate the paint job a 6 out of 10. Its nice driver quality. The windshield has one crack on the drivers side at the corner. The rest of the glass is original and nice. The rear window is power and works great. the rest of the door glass manually rolls up and down well. All of the stainless trim is very nice along with all of the chrome pot metal showing very little pitting. if any. The chrome bumpers are original and decent with no real dents. This car retains all four of its original T-3 head lamp bulbs. All of the lights work inside and out. The interior has been totally redone in two tone green plad and original style vinyl. The carpet is green loop that is in new condition like the rest of the interior. Even the dash is nice with no cracks or splitting. The gauges. wipers. horns. turn signals and cancelers all work and look nice. The original radio lights up. but does not play music. This car even retains its original keys with the knock outs still intact. The 60 Impala steering wheel finished in the matching dark green gives the interior some extra flair. Under the hood its all original and nice. Its a 389 big block with power steering and power brakes. The engine runs very smooth and sounds good. It does not smoke or make any unusual noises. we have driven the car a lot lately and its very reliable. The transmission shifts nice and the brakes are smooth. The engine compartment is all original and has never been spray painted. The valve covers and radiator still have ink stamps from the factory and the firewall has retained some original chalk markings. No major leaks or issues to deal with. The wheels and radial white wall tires are fairly new. the true dual exhaust system is brand new with turbo mufflers (sounds great but is not too loud for a cruiser like this) and stainless tips. I have a current Colorado title in hand that is ready to transfer ownership. If you have more questions please contact me at 303 475-4544. I have been a ebay member since 2000 and have 100% feedback. I have tried to represent this car in full honesty. Its a very rare wagon that is ready to get in with all of you're friends or family and enjoy this summer at local car shows and cruise nights.
