1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am (TTA) 3.8L V6 with a turbocharger, hite with tan Leather interior. These replicas are as close to the actual pace car as any replica offered up to this time. Total production approx. 1550 in 1989.
Very rare and one of only a limited number produced. This particular car is original with minor modifications. The car comes with Nitto tires. Turbo Trans Ams received the famous Buick Grand National turbo charged 3.8 V6 engines. It was assembled by Production Automotive Services (PAS) who was located close to the Van Nuys GM assembly plant. This car has NO rust on body, he power antenna does not work, ndy door graphics not on the doors but come with the car. Outside driver side seat bolster shows little wear. Mods to the car include Alum. Radiator, &N air filter, uel PSI regulator, 2 lb. injectors, nbsp;A/C blows cold, at converter has been removed and new exhaust system installed. All other options are functional. Shop manual & owner's manual included. List price was $31,000 when new.
Stock 3.8L motor with 8.0:1 compression ratio. To make the TTA especially potent, he larger GNX intercooler was added along with more boost, otaling 16.5psi.
Stainless steel three to one headers and exhaust along with a Bosch fuel pressure regulator and recalibrated ECM were also used by PAS to squeeze a little more juice out the 231 cid LC2. Rated 245 hp at flywheel, he motor reportedly made 301 hp on the PAS engine Dyno.
Torque was also reportedly 10 to 16 ft/lbs higher than the advertised 340.
PAS installed the 1LE race braking package which included vented 12" front and 11.7" rear rotors to ensure fade free performance. Aluminum dual piston front and single piston rear calipers were borrowed from the Corvette. The rest of the '89 Turbo Trans Am is nearly identical to the GTA on which it was based. Aluminum 16x8 wheels along with a good set of Goodyear rubber were standard equipment. The Australian Borg Warner 9-bolt with Limited-Slip differential and 3.27 gears, s well as the Sport suspension, as also shared equipment with the GTA.
