1998 FORD ECONOLINE VAN, 3k Original Miles, ew Wheelchair Lift
This is a great deal for someone like us that did not want to pay $30k to $50k for a newer van with a wheelchair lift.
I am selling this reliable van with a new Wheelchair lift because the family member we needed it for has passed. This has been a great van that was originally a side entry wheelchair lift, nd was converted to a rear wheelchair lift last year by Goldenwest Mobility in Spokane. The lift is a new Braun Millenium Series lift, nd has the ability to be manually operated if power is lost. They installed quick release racheting mounts to secure the wheelchair as well. These have hooks that you place on the frame of the wheelchair, nd they ratchet tighter easily. They also can be removed very easily, nd have a seatbelt connected to the back ones for additional safety (See Pictures).
Two comfortable captains chairs in front, nd we have two that came with the van originally but we removed in order to fit the larger wheelchair/power chairs we have used. Driver's side captain chair has electric controls. Windows and Side View Mirrors are also electronically controlled from inside. Inside has new carpeting from the lift being installed, o it is easier to roll a wheelchair in and out, nd easy to maintain. AM/FM Cassette player works fine. Heater and AC work wonderful. Father in-law had dual exhaust installed when he bought this. There is also a tow hitch package installed. The tires are in great shape, nd it comes with a set of Studded Snow Tires which are currently mounted right now.
In the back, his model has the raised ceiling so there is LOTS of headroom. This was really nice for me to be back there securing the wheelchair / power chair and not be so hunched over. There is a TV and VCR in the back for viewing by the passengers. There is also a sound hook-up for headphones so they can listen to what they want, nd you can listen to the radio up front. There is a console that controls the lights inside the cabin, s well as the radio/tv.
Known issues are that he Van shows normal wear for being 17 years old. Some paint peeling on the top portion is the most significant. The airbag light flashes or stays on periodically, ince they installed the new lift, am thinking it is a loose connection but have not had that worked on. The side doors were the original lift entry (automatic). When we converted to the rear lift, e did not have all the hardware to allow the side doors to open from the outside. This is accomplished by reaching from the inside passenger door and opening the side doors from the inside. One front speaker does not always have sound, think another loose connection there.
It meant the world for us to be able to go out easily with a family member in a wheelchair or powerchair. The rear entry for the wheelchair made it even nicer than the side entry, nd we were so happy we did that. This allowed us, f needed, o park in a normal parking stall, f there were no handicap parking stalls available. The rear lift was also nice when moving items like a washer and dryer. With the wheelchair racheting system removed (30 second operation), his operates just like a cargo van would.
We are hoping this fits your needs as well as it did for us when we needed it.
This Van is being sold in "As-Is" condition, nd there is no warranty. Title is clean and in my possession.
