Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1978 Firebird Formula 400 which is in beautiful condition inside and out. This car is super rare being 1 of only 810 1978 Formula 400 4 speeds W72’s ever made. This Formula features a terrific repaint which shows very well, n original light blue deluxe cloth interior, nd the original numbers matching 400 W72 high performance engine and the original 4 speed transmission, ee photos below of vin stamps on engine and transmission. This Formula is very solid with great lines and gaps and has no visible rust on body or frame. This Formula is finished in a beautiful shade of blue/purple over Light Blue (code 24B) cloth interior. The factory exterior color was glacier blue code 22.

Exterior

The exterior is in fabulous condition. This Formula 400 was treated to a professional repaint approximately 3 years ago with all new Formula decals and custom painted hood stripes. The paint is in great condition with no signs of visible rust and both bumpers are in great shape shape with no flaking or faded paint, lthough there is some very light spider webbing on the passenger side front bumper. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, ut noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires are like new and have excellent tread left and are sized 235/60/15 and the Rally II wheels are OEM originals and are in great shape with no curb rash. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire, nflator bottle, nd jack. Also included is a nice set of original Fisher t top bags. All the glass is “LOF” factory original.

Interior

The Light Blue deluxe cloth interior of this Formula is in great original condition. The original seat covers are in great condition with only slight wear on the drivers seat. The carpet is nice condition with no major stains, ips, r holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in great condition as well. The stereo has been upgraded to a digital am/fm cassette which powers on but is not working, nd thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern cd player. The door panels are original and in excellent condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The package tray is in excellent condition as well. All interior/exterior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The horn, ower windows and wipers also work, ut the wiper switch is finicky. The power windows work well and this Formula also has tilt wheel. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This Formula is in great mechanical condition and very importantly the original numbers matching engine and transmission are still in the car, ee vin stamps in the photos. Also the block is stamped “WC” which is the correct block for a 1978 4 speed W72 engine, ee block code photo. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, nd the car handles and performs well. The odometer currently reads 82,518 which is completely believable as actual miles, ut due to an earlier recording error on a title its currently marked as non actual. See photo below of current title and the previous title stating the miles are “more (84,500)” than what is currently on the car. The previous title was stated as “Actual,” but the wrong mileage number was recorded. This Formula is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, dles well, nd runs excellent. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. The exhaust has been upgraded to dual Flowmaster mufflers with headers. This car is a blast to drive with the 4 speed transmission and the t tops removed. Also, he engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This formula has been treated to a few bolt on performance upgrades such as, SD ignition, olley double pumper carb., nd Edelbrock intake. This is a factory non AC car which really unclutters the engine bay.
