Defrost. Heat. Power Steering. Seatbelts. Vinyl Interior. Numbers Matching SELLER REMARKS Despite being the most legendary name in muscle. this 1969 Pontiac GTO remains eminently affordable. Dressed in a great color combination and packing a legendary 400-inch V8 which is also the original numbers matching block. it's the car you never thought you could afford. now within reach. Those three letters G-T-O still command respect on the street today. and with this subtle Code 73 Verdoro Green hardtop. it'll usually be too late before anyone notices the badges on the side. The paint was done a while ago. so while it still looks shiny and perfectly captures the right gold undertones. it won't hold you back from going out and having some fun with your new Pontiac muscle car. The bodywork is quite good and the gaps are good. so when you show up in this car. people are going to notice and they're going to be impressed. Add in the Endura front bumper. a pair of hood scoops. and a minimum of add-ons. and you get a car that's at once threatening and sophisticated. which was exactly the GTO's mission. There isn't much chrome. but the stuff that's there. including the grille and rear bumper. is all in good order. Code B means a black vinyl top. and it's in such good condition that we have to believe that it's been replaced at some point and the workmanship is good enough to pass for OEM. Bucket seats flanking a console are really the only way to travel in a GTO. and the black upholstery in this hardtop nails the original look. The seat covers have proper Pontiac chevrons on the seat backs and while there are a few signs of use and age. the look is inviting and comfortable. not worn. A woodgrained center console features a very cool B&M shifter that feels great in your hand even though it's linked to an automatic transmission. The deeply recessed gauges cover only the basics. but that's OK because the car works so well and the mechanicals are so robust that they don't need constant monitoring. The factory AM radio still lives in the dash and the original wheel now carries a black leather wrapper to help improve the grip factor a bit. Nice carpets and door panels add a finished feel to the interior and the trunk is outfitted with a vintage redline spare tire. The 400 cubic inch V8 has a reputation to maintain and it works exceedingly well at moving the sleek hardtop around with authority. Correct Pontiac Turquoise paint on the original numbers matching block looks bright and clean in the satin black engine bay. and when you top it with a bit of chrome. it takes on a highly detailed look. There's a Holley 4-barrel in place of the original Quadrajet. but that the extent of the modifications. so it runs and drives well without ever getting fussy. The TH400 3-speed automatic shifts well and reacts quickly to a prod on the accelerator and the Flowmaster dual exhaust system delivers an awesome sound to match. It's pretty original underneath. so it's not all shiny and perfect. but without any undercoating. there's no place for major issues to hide. Factory Rally II wheels look sporty and carry staggered 215/70/14 front and 225/70/14 rear white-letter radials for a bit of a rake. Affordable GTOs don't come along often. and this is one performance car whose subtle looks ensure that it under-promises and over-delivers.
