This car is in good reliable running condition. but it needs new tires. I purchased this car with a "salvage" title in August of 2005 (I can provide the bill of sale to the buyer). so I have owned it for almost 10 years. and put over 125K miles on it myself. At the time I purchased it. it had only about 11K miles on it. I have owned it since then and it now has 137K miles on it. I have never had any major mechanical problems with it. and it has never been in a collision. The reason for the salvage title follows: This car was originally owned by a rental car company (I believe it was Avis). When it was just a few months old. a renter either abandoned it. or it was stolen from a renter (I'm not sure). and the car was left abandoned in an airport parking lot for several months. The rental car company. unable to locate the car. claimed it as a total loss on their insurance. and the insurance company paid the claim. The standard procedure for this is to "total out" the vehicle as a total loss. Some time later. the car was recovered. with the only damage being that the rear window had been smashed in. This is repaired. and the car was then re-sold by the insurance company at an auction. Since it had been "totaled out. it had to be re-titled with a salvage title. I purchased the car from the dealer who acquired it at the aforementioned auction. The CarFax report erroneously states that the car was a "total loss. but this again is a misrepresentation. The car was "totaled" only because the insurance company originally assumed it as not recoverable. When it was eventually recovered. it was in perfect shape except for the broken window. For that reason. I got a great deal on it at the time. The main downside of a salvage title on an undamaged car. nbsp;is that there was no warranty. However. I've never had any problem with this car. never needed any warranty service. and after 137K miles. there would be no warranty on it anymore anyway. I now have 4 cars. and am getting rid of all but one of them. This is the first to go; and I'm listing it at about 1/3 the NADA TRADE-IN value (that's less than 1/4 of the dealer's retail value). I just want this car out of my driveway because it's taking up space. It is listed with no reserve. and it is sold as-is; where-is. with no warranties. and no returns. The high bidder will win this car. If you need it shipped or delivered to your location. you must arrange that yourself. and I will fed-ex the title. bill of sale. and keys to you upon payment. Or. pick it up in-person. pay cash. and I will sign the title over to you on-site. It is guaranteed to run in very good condition (I just drove it from Philadelphia to Ft. Lauderdale Florida and back about 6 weeks ago. with absolutely no problems -- it ran great and comfortable). The photos shown in the listing were taken about 4 weeks ago. so these are very recent photographs of the car. which I took right after I returned from Florida with it. AC works. CD player and radio work. Heat works. Everything works except -- the remote key locker doesn't work. You have to use the physical key. to unlock the door. The only other thing it needs. are new tires and an oil change. It will definitely need new tires. and will not pass inspection without new tires.
