1977 Pontiac Trans Am Y81 Special Edition Bandit
PHS documentation confirms this is a true Y81 Special Edition. One of 384 built with both the Pontiac 400 W72 and M21 4 speed option. PHS supplied build sheet included with photos.Y81's are the non-T Top Special Edition Bandit Trans AM's.
Very solid car. Still has original gold dash bezel, it just has faded over time. Interior is nice; along the path of its life someone removed the seats and original gold steering wheel, and the original gold grilles were likely broken a long time ago.
This Bandit was ordered for performance with a W72 400 and no A/C. To my knowledge the mileage of 89,232 is actual but I cannot confirm,
Floor pans appear solid. There is alittlerust around the rear window. Damage to trunk panel as someone pried trunk open. Easy fix. Rust bubbles on driver's quarter panel. Trunk pan has small hole. Please see photos.
Please note there is no engine or transmission. To the best of my knowledge the posi is a 3.08 ratio.
Have State of Washington affidavit inlieuof title that you can take to your state's DMV to title in your name.
These are high demand and rare cars. This one is very rare as it is one of 384. Restored Special Editions sell for $45K -70K.
It cost about the same to restore a bandit as it does a regular Trans Am, but the Bandit will be worth 2 - 3 times as much.
$500 non-refundable deposit requiredimmediately upon purchase or winning bid. Balance due in 72 hours.
Will work with your shipper for pickup after balance paid and payment clears bank.
