1956 Pontiac Star Chief 4 door Hard Top

You are looking at a 1956 Pontiac Star Chief 4-door Hard Top. This car has the 316 cubic inch motor with 285 HP and a four barrel carburetor. This stock motor gets 10-1 compression and also has the Hydramatic transmission. We started the motor with an auxiliary gas tank. and it starts and runs and is quiet and doesn’t smoke. It does have a little miss to it. and we think it is in the carburetor. We just checked the compression and it is good. As you can see. this car has the cool factory exhaust tips. The transmission works. but we have only yard-driven the car. The tires are just rollers and the brakes aren’t working (emergency brake works). The Pontiac has been stored in a dry building and has zero rust. There is just one small rust spot on the driver’s side door (as seen in the picture). This old Star Chief has all of its moldings. there are a couple that need repair. but they are all fixable. It is missing one taillight lens and one backup light lens. The floorboards were undercoated at the factory when it was new. This car has the original paint and upholstery. The upholstery is complete with all the nice door and headliner moldings. The seat is electric. and works. All the upholstery needs to be redone. but it does have a new rug kit. The dash looks good still. it is all complete. and some of the gauges work. The glass is all good except the windshield. The Wonderbar radio in the dash turns on and hums. The lights are working and the horn works. This car has the original fender skirts. hubcaps. spare tire. jack and keys. We are also including a box of miscellaneous parts. gauges and an extra brake drum. This is a very nice car to either finish as is. or make into a cruiser. This old Star Chief is a very excellent candidate to restore. Pontiacs like this one are really going up in value. there aren’t many of these left out there!
