Description

If you think you've seen this car before, you aren't crazy...this car was listed on eBay in January at which time I bought it. The story goes like this...I tried to buy this very car from Triboro Pontiac in NJ in2001 or 2002, who had it in their showroom as "eye candy". We couldn't make a deal. The car was subsequently sold to another person in NJ who took it to N. Carolina. He, in turn, sold it to a T/A collector in Long Beach, CA who then sold it to me and I shipped it back to Pennsylvania.

This is a driver quality car, not concourse. However, I think it is probably one of the nicest in the country to exist and the ONLY one of the 2500 for sale at present, that my research can find. It has 41,000 original miles which, I believe, is verified by CarFax. Everything on this car works with the exception of the radio. The previous owner wanted better "cruising" sound so he installed a hidden Pioneer radio/CD/USB in the rear sub-hatch of the car that works via an infrared remote mounted and hidden under dash. Frankly, I've never used it so I do not know exactly how it works...but I am told it works well. The stock radio in the dash is original and I am also told will work if you remove the Pioneer unit. If you are unaware, the radio in the Daytona cars were specific to these 2500 units as the display was RED, as opposed to the non-Pace cars that were green.

There are the Recaro seats with the Alcantra suede guts and adjustable leg bolster. This car also has the rare Aero wheel option with the bowling ball covers. The Daytona 500 floor mats look new. The GM t-top bag is in the hatch. Hatch pneumatic arms are new and work as they should. Prior owner gave me receipts showing a complete trans overhaul, A/C overhaul and new headliner. I drove car yesterday in 90 degree heat and the A/C was ice cold. There are 4 brand new Cooper tires which still have the "nubs".

Upon my receipt of the car, it was immediately serviced by Steve Spencer, a Bloomington Gold GM mechanic, at Bryner Chevy in Jenkintown, PA. All fluids were changed, air cleaners, and front control arm bushings. A brand new Interstate battery was installed by me with a 2 year Costco warranty.

I just picked up the car yesterday from a complete, 2 day detail/reconditioning and it shines.

I urge any buyer to either come see the car in person or schedule an inspection. I say this because cars are the MOST subjective item you can ever sell on eBay. What I think is pristine, you may think is junk and vice-versa. No matter what I say about this car, someone else will take issue with. Therefore, it is being sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. I make NO representations about anything. All of the above is what I know and MY OPINION. I am not a mechanic or in the car industry. I am just an enthusiast.

I also have original Bill of Sale from 1983 when it was sold new, trade-in paperwork and info from when I registered it with PHS. Also included is a custom "show board" that came with the car and highlights the details and is nice to put out at car shows.

WHY AM I SELLING? I bought this car because it was too ironic that I found it 15 years after trying to buy it originally. In actuality, I collect H-D motorcycles and this car is taking up much needed garage space. I've driven the car under 150 miles since purchase. It's toorare of a car to let sit in the garage. The Fall is "car show season" and I am planning on showing it for sale in every show I can get to...also for sale locally. If you are from out of town, shipping is your responsibility; I will assist shipping in any way I can. An immediate PayPal deposit is required and balance payment is due by bank wire within 5 days. Upon purchase, I will gladly email a copy of the title to you, but nothing leaves my possession until paid IN FULL.

Please see my 100% feedback over the last 16 years as an eBay'er. I welcome all calls, questions and inspections. I can be reached at 215-402-7715.
