1967 Pontiac Tempest

1967 Pontiac Tempest. 230 6 cylinder engine. Two speed automatic transmission. Everything is in working condition. Engine runs. but is noisy. I have owned this for about 5 years and it has been a fun car for me but i don't drive it much anymore. I hate to sell this. but i really don't want to put more money into it. A mechanic took the valve cover off. looked at it and told me that it needs a new cam or the engine rebuilt or replaced. New cam costs about 300 plus labor of about 400. ENGINE & MECHANICSTransmission shifts and works great with no issues. Carberator was rebuilt about 4 years ago. New battery about 2 years ago. Also new plugs . plug wires. rotor and cap last year. I just had the radiator re-cored due to a leak. Brakes work great. The engine was noisy a few years ago so i had a new cam put in and the new cam wore down again. The mechanic recommends i either put another cam in or have the engine rebuilt or put another engine in it. If i did my own work it would be alot less expensive. but i dont have time or inclination to do the the work. BODY & INTERIORBody is solid with no issues. No major rust that affects driving it. All New Interior and carpet put in about 4 years ago. Trunk was lined with a black sealant and a new vintage liner put in. All windows have been resealed. Trunk opens. closes and locks with ease. New trunk seal put in too. Hood opens. closes and locks just fine. Wheel wells look like they have had new metal put in them and that was done before i ever owned it. It also looks like it was painted and body work done years ago before i owned it. All windows roll up and down and work fine. EXTRASComes with a car cover. Comes with a spare. jack. four way. Also comes with a extra vintage passenger side mirror. Am radio that works. but does need a new antenna. I put a new speaker in. because the old one dry rotted. It is ok to drive a few hours. but i would recommend having it hauled. Local pickup only or arrange your own pickup / shipping at your expense. I have a clear title.
