Description

This is an original owner 1988 Pontiac Grand Prix SE which I special ordered here in Las Vegas. Nevada from Pat Clark Pontiac (now out of business). It is equipped with the rare Getrag 5 speed manual transmission. Options include:Power SteeringPower BrakesAir Conditioning (works well. the original R-12 system. not converted)Power Windows (work well)Cruise Control (not working. I suspect a vacuum issue)AM/FM Cassette Radio with Equalizer (works well) with working Power AntennaIntegral Compass and Service Computer (works well)Power Seats (Drivers seat all works except headrest/Passenger Seat all works)Power Trunk Release (works well)Power Door Locks (work well)Factory Color Matched WheelsIntermittent Windshield Wipers/Washer System (works well - hey. it's a Nevada car. they were hardly used!)Fog Lights (Work Well -- not much fog in Nevada either)Getrag 5 Speed Manual Transmission (excellent condition)Port Between Rear Buckets for Access to Trunk (for skis. etc. )The Pontiac Grand Prix SE 2 door coupe was Motor Trend Magazine's 1988 Car of the Year and this car was ordered to emulate that. There is normal wear and tear on the car. but overall it is is excellent original condition. It has been regularly serviced (records available). New tires were put on the car in October 2014 and a representative picture of those tires is included. I also will include an extra antenna mast (hard to find) which is rather easy to replace should the antenna mast fail sometime in the future. The trunk is as original and the spare tire has never been used. The car has a U-Haul receiver hitch which I used to haul a small utility trailer and also hold a plug-in bicycle rack. The odometer module is good and the car does not show any engine codes. I have used Mobil 1 in it since new (can prove this with service records) and it has always passed Nevada smog testing. I can provide a new smog testing certificate to the buyer upon request. Within the last week I replaced both upper motor mounts. The engine does not smoke and does not use oil between oil changes. You might notice in the engine picture. the rare cross brace between the strut towers. It was added from an '89 Olds Cutlass Convertible (same unibody understructure) and helps with handling. I have the original strut tower plates that go with the car. If you'll check the pictures of the bottom of the car. you'll see it is very clean. All the glass in the car is good. Side and rear windows are lightly tinted. Until recently. the car had a dash cover. and the dash is not sun-damaged or cracked. The car has been garaged or under a carport its entire life. The car runs very well. clutch is tight. and I would have no hesitation driving it to any place in the US. I have all the original manuals with the car. and will include a Pontiac-issued factory service manual (in the original box).
