Description

2004 Porsche 911 40th Anniversary Edition # 306 out of 1963 built If you're reading this ad you know all about this model. so I will not add any superfluous explanations and descriptions. Quite simply. the AE is a stunning work of art and one wicked sick high performance sports car. Fastest 911 after the Turbo. BTW: I have not seen another AE with a lower production unit number for sale in the past 6 years. May not mean anything at all but just sayin. I purchased this certified pre-owned 911 from Pacific Porsche in Torrance. California 6 years ago with 49K miles. Since then I logged a mere 5K miles. It has been meticulously maintained. Major maintenance was performed at 51K at a cost of $3000. A new Porsche clutch kit and dual-mass flywheel was installed along with a new rear main seal. Spark plugs were replaced and a full transmission service performed. Then 9 qts. of Mobil 1's 0W40 full-synthetic oil. For better street and highway performance I replaced the rubber with Michelin Pilot Sports and had a four-wheel alignment. Tires and alignment alone cost an additional $1500. But I wasn't done because this 911 sounded like a Boxster. despite the 345 HP. So. For sensory bliss I replaced the weeny-sounding muffs with a set of Fabspeed's stainless steel works-of-art mufflers. The welds alone are breathtaking. Then. for pure aesthetics I added Fabspeed's "black chrome" quad tips. These mufflers sound awesome - throaty and bold when you step on it. but mellow enough at idle and cruising. And the tips look just right for this 911's booty. For the hands-on driving experience I added a B&M short shift bracket. In essence. you now have a short shifter without the expense of an OEM aftermarket shifter (including Porsche) that requires damage to the original shifter bushings in the cockpit. The original Porsche bracket is included and can be returned to stock if a new owner so decides. but why would anyone do that! The body is simply immaculate with its clear side markers instead of the garish original orange. The paint work is beautiful and is buffed to a mirror smooth finish. Yes there are a few insignificant rock chips on the hood and a VERY insignificant repaired scratch on the front driver's fender that the photos will not show. This car is awesome at 10 feet and just as awesome at 6 inches. The original 18" wheels are in excellent condition as well. Inside is as immaculate as the exterior. It still boasts that luxurious leather smell. To my knowledge it has never been smoked in and I have never eaten anything or had a beverage inside the cabin. The leather seats are soft and supple and have been nourished every six months with leather preservative. I don't believe the back seats have ever had a passenger. This AE has never had dogs. cats. kids. beach sand or gym bags in it while I've owned it. In sum. the interior is a beautifully appointed cockpit. It comes with the factory Nav unit which currently does not work. I just made the video and it was still working properly. Today it doesn't read the CD. I have rebooted the CD over and over and still won't read. Don't have the time now to get it looked at. As a caveat: the 2004 navigation system was a poor example of German engineering. When I purchased this AE the sales manager told me that the CD's are outdated and no longer supported and that any other aftermarket unit would be a big improvement. In fact. the iphone map app is a much more superior tool than this Nav unit and it's what I use when I need directions. I had always wanted to upgrade to an Alpine 7 touch-screen Nav/Cd/Bluetooth/Mp3 unit which is fantastic. Perhaps I will go ahead and have that installed if I keep this car. You can check out the Alpine unit if you search Al & Eds Autosound in Marina Del Rey. CA. They have a few videos on you tube showing the retrofit. So Let's Get On With ItI have all the original manuals and booklets. It comes with its two original keys / remotes. spare tire and tool kit. I will include the special Porsche Tequipment car cover and a special AE plate. I will also provide the new owner with the "996 bible" that has 700 pages of photos and information. A real must. The cabin air filter has just been replaced and a new Interstate H7 battery is in tip-top shape and the oil was refreshed again this past June with the Mobil 1 full synthetic. The tires are pumped to 35 in the front and 39 to the rear. It rides just wonderful at those pressures for me. For the New OwnerIf a buyer would like to have PPI performed this must be done prior to the end of auction. That means before buy-it-now or an accepted offer. I will assist if I can by delivering the 911 to a person of your choice if it is within 20 miles of the 90274 zip. There are a lot of Porsche specialists in this area! If you choose the buy-it-now option or make an offer that is accepted the sale is deemed completed and a non-refundable $500 payment via PayPal is due within 24 hours. Full payment is due within 3 days by cash. wire transfer (US bank to US bank) or certified US bank check. Wire transfer or bank checks must clear before release of vehicle and title. Remember. CASH is king! I will be happy to assist with shipping. but all costs and arrangements are the sole responsibility of the buyer. As with most sales here. there are no express or implied warranties regarding this 911. I believe that I am asking a very reasonable buy-it-now price. considering what's out there and the condition of this car with its maintenance and upgrades. If you feel the need to haggle or negotiate I've added the "BEST OFFER" option. However. don't clutter the broadband with unrealistic offers. You and I know exactly the value of this 911 edition. They have retained their value and will continue to outpace all other 996's in the future. You will not be disappointed with any aspect of this 911. It is everything you can imagine and then some. It is all ready to go and needs nothing to enjoy. And if you wait. someone else may just hit that buy-it-now tab. Last thing - this is being offered only this one time. If it does not sell by the end of auction it WILL NOT be re-listed. So don't think that I will reduce the price or call back those who made a rejected offer. It won't happen. Don't need to sell at all. In fact. I am going to take it out for a spin up the coast when I finish the ad. Remember. the sooner you bid. the sooner you win. the sooner it's in your garage.
