The first thing that grabs you is the overall look of the car. Vintage Speedster has painstakingly gone over every detail to make sure that only the keenest collectors eye could spot the minor variances between this and a real one. The lines are clean and straight. fit and finish incredible. gaps and trim align perfectly. and all of the little details add up to perfection. This particular car was built directly by Vintage Speedster. and was purchased by its original owner in 2013. British Racing Green was chosen for the exterior color scheme. and it really sets this car apart from the sea of silver and red that seems to cloak the lesser quality clones running amok across the U. S. The finish is glossy. slick. and wet looking. and has been lovingly hand waxed and cleaned since new. There are less than a handful of truly minor finish blemishes on the car. and most sellers would call it perfect. but I strive to maintain my 100% positive eBay FEEDBACK as a seller. so I simply must point them out. however inconsequential they are. There are NO cracks in the fiberglass. NO rips. NO dents. NO dings… the normal little scuff marks. stone chips. and touched-up areas that you would expect on any car that has been driven. The NARDI wheel lends an aura of authenticity to the car. as do the deluxe gauge package and dash trim. COCO mats protect the fully carpeted flooring so it shows like new. and the kick panels and rear panels all still show like new as well. The banded German weave carpet that Vintage uses is so nice. you’ll feel like you’re looking inside a $175. 00 real one! Leather door panels with flexible storage pockets are in exceptional condition. as are the Speedster Sport seats with matching shift and E-Brake boots. The upholstery looks FANTASTIC. and is rip. tear. stain. and seam pull free. It has no stains and only the gorgeous patina fine grade leather gets over time. There is a rear area seat top that could be used for a person. but seems more viable for a small pet or day bag. Seat belts are fully functional lap units. and function perfectly. The Suntan convertible top is in perfect condition. with no stains. damage. tears. rips. or seam pulls. It shows like new. and rear window is in exceptional condition as well. It stows cleanly. and all of the snaps are fully intact and functional. A pouch in the front bonnet holds the two side screens for the top. and they are in exceptional condition and have no damage or issues. Under the front bonnet. the whole hood area has been treated to a striated rubber protective covering trimmed to the car. This was an optional upgrade that really sets the car apart. There is also a hood prop. hidden front storage cubby. chrome bonnet hinge plates with rubber boots. and a functional mini compressor included with the car. The VW derived 1600CC motor was BRAND NEW when it was built and assembled for this car. With just over 1. 00 miles on it. it is still in excellent condition. and runs and performs like new. It includes dual carbs. EMPI aluminum intakes. and a performance exhaust system that sounds authentic to the car. 1600cc may not sound like a lot. but when you combine the low seating height. open roof. and razor-like handling of this car. it feels like a whole lot more! The car starts. runs. idles. and performs like it was a brand new build. and it has been loving maintained since new with a break-in and 1. 00 mile complete fluid service performed on it since new. Handling is SPOT ON. and it goes where you tell it to in really short order!
