Description

Porsche 936 Junior 1/2 Scale Children's Collectible Car Celebrating the 1981 Le Mans win of Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell In 1984 Ferry Porsche was given a ½ scale replica of the 936 that won LeMans in 1981. He enjoyed it so much. even driving it around his birthday party. that he put it on display in the Porsche museum. After that he commissioned somewhere between 50 and 100 cars to be built and sold to Porsche dealers around the world. The exact number is not known. They had part number WAP. 170. 000 This is believed to be the last new one. still in the crate. in the world. For more detailed history please see the scanned Excellence Magazine article on the Porsche 936 Junior. Stored for many years in a crate in a warehouse where my son and I discovered it after lengthy Internet searches and countless phone calls. It is also believed to be the last or one of the very last produced. The decals are slightly different from the others. I have only seen one other one with a number 1 instead of an 11 and without the driver’s names. When I asked why. I was told because it was the last and they had run out of decals. The cars were built in Poland for Porsche by a firm that specializes in building small gas powered cars. To our knowledge. and the previous owner’s knowledge. this car has never been removed from its crate and there is no smell of gas from it ever being started. It is like new. The car features the adjustable spoiler and only one small section of the stripe decal lifting. The engine turns easily when pulling the starter rope but I am told there is an electric start. The cars feature high and low beam headlights. working turn signals. a three-speed transmission and a Briggs and Stratton engine with a top speed of 32MPH. I am also told by the gentleman I bought it from that it features disc brakes and spring suspension with shock absorbers. I am a serious Porsche collector who is letting go of pieces of my collection slowly as I’m getting older and looking to thin out my holdings. I am not a dealer or a flipper. When I opened the crate. with the help of my son. and saw this beautiful car I decided to keep it in its just found condition covered in years of dust that made its way through the crate in the warehouse. This may be the last new Porsche 936 Junior in the world and perfect for the display at the upcoming Rennsport Reunion. You are welcome to inspect it in person but I will not let anyone but the buyer sit in it. start it. or remove it from the crate. This is a cherished piece in like new condition and it is up to the new owner to do as they please. If this car does not sell I will keep it as one of the rarities of my collection. It is fully insured. yes. even collision – isn’t that funny - and kept in a humidity controlled warehouse next to my other cars. Please ask any questions or ask for additional pictures. I will be happy to oblige. I will not. however. be able to remove the body to show the frame as it would require removing it from the crate but I will do my best to get any picture you desire with the body attached. This is a rare museum piece so please ask any questions. through eBay and bid accordingly. Porsche 936 Junior RARE Museum Piece Believed Last New 1 in World Highly Collectible
