Description

Untitled Document Please read and understand everything in this auction description before bidding. The VIN has been listed and photo of it provided. You are welcome to run any kind of AutoCheck/Carfax type report you wish. It is up to the bidder/buyer to interpret those reports as the decision is made to bid or not bid on this car. I purchased the car from the General Manager of a Chevy dealership in Slaton. TX. I have no other first hand information as to other prior ownership. The car is pretty much stock with a nice set of factory installed options including upgraded "turbo look" chrome 18" wheels. leather interior. 3-spoke steering wheel with color Porsche crest. upgraded stereo system. as well as all the other bells and whistles like electric everything. heated seats. moonroof. cruise. and ice cold a/c. I have included a photo of the hood sticker showing factory installed options. I am not a fan of the stock 996 headlights so shortly after I bought it. I added the TechArt headlight covers and had them professionally painted to perfectly match the exterior black finish. Front side amber markers (pumpkins) have been replaced with smoke colored lenses. The service records that I have for the car are just what I have had done to it. which is very little for a couple reasons. The first one being I have put so few miles on it that it has not reached a scheduled maintenance interval while I have owned it. Secondly. the car has not needed any work done on it besides oil changes. I put new rear tires (Sumitomo tires from Tire Rack) on it less than a thousand miles ago so they have a lot of life left in them. The front tires will need to be changed in the next thousand miles or so. The battery was installed new in 9/2011. I have kept a battery tender on it while it is in the garage for winter and not being driven to keep it charged and to protect it. The car is of course 16 years old so it does have small cosmetic flaws here and there that just occur from normal use (many of which I believe could be buffed out). but no major dents. Known flaws/defects: - The rear main seal is leaking. I noticed a few drops of oil on the garage floor about 2-3 years ago and that is where it is leaking from (common on 996's). I have never noticed the oil level being affected by this so it is a very small amount that is leaking. - Windshield washer reservoir is leaking. - Wheels have some curb rash. passenger side rear has the most. Chrome flaking inside lug nut holes on passenger side rear wheel. - Several small rock chips on hood and front spoiler. - Driver side headlight washer nozzle is missing (see photos). - Drivers door edge and near key hole has surface dings and marks. - Surface scratches on body consistent with normal use of a 16 year old car. many of which I believe could be buffed out. - Flap on sun visor mirror (driver side) is missing - Hood release handle and surrounding area beside driver seat is scuffed up and scratched. Below is a link to an audio (MP3) file of the sound of the engine being started. running for a while. revved to about 3k RPM. then shut off. I recorded this on 4/13/15 with a high quality condenser studio microphone. I would encourage you to listen to this audio clip with high quality headphones/earphones. Please let me know if you have any issues listening to this file and I will make other arrangements for you.
