1960 Devin D Porsche spyder 356 speedster 911 convertible roadster Carrera

NO RESERVE AUCTION! FOR SALE LOCALLY SO MAY END AT ANY TIME!This Devin D is an original example. It is a factory built Devin with its original tube chassis. . It has never been modified or raced. There were very few Devin D's ever built. Most Devins. because of their great track performance. were used as race cars and were modified accordingly. However. his Devin has not been! This may be one of the very few that has been kept to it's original configuration. I have spoken with many Devin experts and they all agreed they have yet to see a Devin D this original. This Devin deserves a nice restoration and would be both welcomed and maybe the center of attraction at any venue. Exterior/Body: Built with hand laid fiberglass it is in remarkable condition! I have inspected all body panels and there is no indication there has ever been any repairs. There are no cracks in the fiberglass. This is the original color of this Devin D and a lot of the paint is original. Paint looks great from 10 feet away but upon close inspection there are chips and blemishes. Original bumpers are nice and straight. All exterior lights work as they should. Doors. runk and engine lid open and close as they should. also keys do lock front and back trunks. All panels line up perfectly and are original to this Devin. Also included is the original convertible top. ide windows and bows. I also have a new rear plastic window. Interior: Seats are original to this Devin and the vinyl is in excellent condition-(seats are unique as there is a left and right and cannot be reversed). I have the original carpets but they will need to be replaced. The gauges work properly and handbrake holds nicely. All wiring under dash is original and not altered in any way. Mechanics: I am told this Devin D may have come with a 356 engine but it is currently running a strong and healthy VW motor. The transmission shifts nicely but 3rd gear synchro is poor. Brakes could use a bleeding as they are spongy. All suspension including shocks appear to be original however the handling is still amazing! All four tires are new and correct. It still has its 6 volt wiring system with a new battery. History: I have registrations that date back to 1980 from California State. The license plate (Blue) is original to this Devin and matches registrations that I have. These Devin D's are very similar to the early Porsches such as the 550 Spyder and investors are adding them to their collections. s they are truly unique and were and still are fantastic race cars! This Devin can be seen here at my home-I encourage inspections. owever they must be done prior to auction ending - no exceptions!
