This Classic was only driven a few miles since restoration in 2008. This is a spectacular example of a 1960 Porsche 356 B Coupe. with matching numbers. It is a very early T5B body style. The restoration process has been extensive and the craftsmanship is superb. and the body parts are fit to perfection. This car was taken down to bare metal. metal finished and fitted. Then it was primed. sealed. painted base coat clear coat color sanded and buffed to a high quality finish. The best materials were used on the paint job and underlying finish. The engine. brakes. suspension. instruments were all gone through. It has new rubber. seals. hardware. exhaust system and more. The steering wheel was restored. horns restored. lights restored. new glass in the headlights and a new windshield installed. All the original chrome was re-plated to a high level. All new interior made and fitted with correct German weave carpet and new headliner. The example seen here. serial No. 112480. has been fully restored and is a superb example of T5-bodied 356B production. with an original Reutter body. The T5 body was built from 1959 -- 1961. and features single rear decklid louvering. under-hood fuel filler and a rear window that is smaller than that of the T6-bodied 356B. This particular 356's body was Mounted behind the rear wheels is this 356's original. number-matching 1. 00cc flat-four engine. The engine is paired with a four-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. This 356's restoration was commissioned by the Classic Showcase Inc. in Oceanside. CA. and was completed to exacting standards. Originally painted Silver. the body was stripped to bare metal and professionally re-painted in mile-deep black and showcases near flawless panel fit and gaps. and superb brightwork. Inside the two-tone cabin. this 356 has received all-new red upholstery and correct square-weave carpeting. Correct 5-lug wheels are shod with chrome "Super" hubcaps and colored Porsche crest ornamentation.
