The 997 is the most commercially successful 911 of all time, aving sold 100,000 units of the first generation alone between its introduction in 2005 and July 2007. It has also received mostly positive reviews from the worldwide motoring press; even British motoring journalistJeremy Clarkson, known detractor of Porsche cars, oted that the 997 will "make love to your fingertips and stir your soul."
The rearbodywork was a total of 3.5in wider than its predecessor. However, he most notable aesthetic difference between the 997 and the 996 was the return to oval headlights like those of pre-996 Carreras, ith separate indicator units. The interior was re-designed with new controls; however, t was more reminiscent of classic 911 interiors than of the outgoing 996. The body in general remained low profile with a drag coefficient of 0.30 for the Carrera S.
The Carrera S uses a new 3,824cc (3.824L; 233.4cuin) flat-6 engine. The X51 Powerkit is available for S, hich increases engine power.
According to testing carried out by several American automotive publications, he Carrera S model is capable of going 0 to 60mph in 4.7 seconds, eaching a top speed of 190mph. Note, owever, hat these figures are conservative Porsche statistics.
This Model 911 / 997 has a customer satisfaction rating of 4.8 stars, ut of 5. You will understand why that is, fter you drive the car.
The front bumper and hood still have the factory rock-chip protective film.
This car still has a clean blue Texas title You will be very happy with this car. It is solid, rives perfect and would rate in “excellent” shape. I have already had the state inspection done. I would drive this car across the country without any worries. (I have plenty of volunteers to drive it across country if you want it delivered)
Issues: The only issues are very minor. You will see a photo of my finger pointing to a small indention in the driver’s side pillar, hat is the only ding in the car and it is barely noticeable. I took lots of pictures but I strongly suggest that you come to New Braunfels Texas and inspect it. If you inspect it, ou will want it! The third brake light is LED and needs to be replaced. It’s an $89 part on eBay, did not have the time to fix it. Only other thing is that the electric cooling fan for the engine has a thermostat that shuts it off, sually a few minutes after you shut the car off. This is an auxiliary fan (Small one mounted on the trunk lid) It sometimes does not turn off with the thermostat but it has a fail-safe shut off that turns it off in 10 minutes. It has not bothered me enough to have the thermostat replaced in the fan (I don’t care if it runs 10 minutes after the car shuts off, t does not affect the battery)
Everything works as it should. Tires are in very good condition, o are the brakes. Air Conditioner blows cold. Nice stereo sound system (factory upgrade)
You will save a bundle of money on this car! This car will sell to the high bidder regardless if that is $500 or $50,000.
Trade? I will only trade for a late 50’s to early 60’s Corvette, r something very similar (Possibly a Cobra). The only fair way to work a trade on a no reserve auction would be for us to both agree on the value of your trade prior to your bidding. Once we agree, ou can bid on the car. If your winning bid is higher than the value of the agreed trade value, ou pay the difference. If your trade ends up being worth more than your winning bid, pay the difference. This would definitely require some communication before you bid.
I really hope to get what this car is worth but I will trust the auction to bring whatever the market will pay. Whoever wins this bid will be very happy!
I will be glad to help with shipping and I know a hand full of guys that would gladly drive this to anywhere in the country to deliver it (for a small fee). I will be happy to help you arrange to get the car to your home as long as it has been paid for before it leaves my driveway. I would suggest that you fly into San Antonio or Austin and let me pick you up at the airport. You would enjoy the drive home and give you a chance to get to know your new car.
The winning bidder will need to pay a $500 deposit within 24 hours and the balance within 5 days. You can leave the car here as long as you wish once it is paid for. If you have a bad rating or a 0 rating you will not be able to bid unless you contact me ahead of time so I can verify your existence.
This is a true NO RESERVE! High Bidder Wins!
