The 944 S2 was the last and the best of the front engine 944 line, hich began as far back as 1982 replacing the 924. The 944 was initially powered by 2.5 litre eight valve engine developing 163bhp, ut when the S2 came in 1989 it had acquired the 3.0L 16 valve engine generating 211bhp and 207 lb-ft of torque. Offering great acceleration and maximum speed just short of the 911.

The 944 S2 had a smoother front end creating a more modern look and remained on sale until 1992, hen it was replaced by the 968. This 944 S2 is a 3 owner vehicle which has been garaged in Indianapolis since 2008. In Guards Red, his car is painted in proper Porsche colors and has been very well preserved.
