Description

Relisted because potential local buyer could not get financing. Up for sale is a mint condition 2000 Porsche Boxster S with the 2.7L engine, -speed transmission. The interior is all leather and is broken in but not torn or worn - wrinkles and creases yes, ears, cuffs and holes - no way; dash, enter console lid, oor panels and visors are also all leather and are immaculate.**Just added new photos of the interior: leather seats** Vanity lights are intact and working as are the mirror lids. Multi-position electric seats (no electric lumbar control); nothing manual. Has just had the IMS done with the FN Engineering kit for direct oil feed to the IMS, ew Porsche clutch kit, alve cover gaskets and spark plug tube "O" rings and new plugs. Has "Boxster S" SS sill door plates by Porsche ($650). This vehicle needs nothing; new battery as well. Does have very small barely noticeable chip in the windshield, ow center. Receipts for all work performed; over $6K in all to make this car perfect. I'm selling it to move onto other projects. You won't find another 2000 in better condition - especially one that's had all of the known Porsche 'issues' dealt with.
The exterior is dent and scratch-free and the paint is excellent. Full disclosure: the vehicle history will show a fender bender in the 2006 time framewhere the passenger door panel was replaced - a $1600 repair so it couldn't have been much damage. There is no evidence of the repair whatsoever. The convertible top was replaced within the past year and has a glass rear window. Has Luminar 30% ceramic window tint (may not be legal in all 50-states so better check on that); photos taken BEFORE the tint was applied. The brakes were recently flushed and it just had an oil change with the IMS replacement. Blaupunkt stereo installed that has USB player, D and Bluetooth and remote. Original radio also comes with the car as does a brand new Porsche trickle charger and a top-of-the-line car cover. Has 2 keys both with remotes, nd a 3rd key for accidental lockouts.
A word to the wise: no matter how much someone may tell you how good their Boxster or Cayman runs, hether it's the 3.2L or 2.7L 6 cylinder...if it hasn't had the IMS replaced, here's a 15% failure rate on the Porsche factory IMS bearing...which means a whole new engine (the engine is completely destroyed)+ the IMS replacement on the new engine...that adds up to $10K or so if you do the clutch at the same time...so keep that in mind when looking. The evidence that the bearing is going is so subtle it often goes misdiagnosed as a noisy lifter or an engine that's poorly tuned.
$500 due at time of purchase with the balance in a Wells-Fargo cashier's check. Please contact me for further details. International bidders welcome. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs and logistics.
NOTE: The vehicle is also advertised locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
