Up for auction is a driver-quality 1986 Porsche 911 Targa.
Car comes with original bill of sale and good service history,
showing it was owned by the same family in NC until 2008.
This is a nice, ccident-free, lean Carfax Targa that runs and drives well, lthough it does have some deferred maintenance and items that need servicing and updating (a bunch of minor stuff from what we can see).
The car starts up with no drama and no smoke. It drives well and shifts smoothly.
Factory Options as listed on the option codes on the underhood sticker:
158 – Blaupunkt Monterey
018 – Sports Steering Wheel
220- Locking Differential 40%
241 – Shorter Shift Lever
341 – Central Locking System
395 – 16” Forged Fuchs Alloy Wheels
454 – Automatic Speed Control
Rear Spoiler is believed to be a factory option, ut is not listed on the underhood sticker (but neither are the fog lights, nd the underhood sticker does not always list the full option list). The car also has a full leather interior which is original, nd again, he option code is not shown on the underhood sticker. (I've seen cars of this vintage that only had the option code C02 but had more options on the window sticker).
Mostly original paint and no bodywork. (see photos of meter readings).
The only paintwork is the front hood, he rear driver's quarter, nd the rear bumper. All other panels are original paint.
Interior is in nice shape with the exception of two tears in the driver’s seat cushion, nd the leather dash and rear deck are warped.
Aftermarket stereo head unit and door speakers.
Upgraded exhaust.
Brand new tires.
No active leaks - we replaced the front oil coolr hoses and the rear oil scavenge line which were both leaking. The bottom of the motor appears dry with only a slight weep. The transmission input seal does have oil showing below.
Exterior is in really nice shape with the exception of a dent in the driver’s lower rocker panel.
The body and underside are dry and corrosion free - no bubbling along the windshield cowl line, o rust in the pans, one in the body.
The only corrosion is in the front battery tray which was due to a leaking battery at some point, nd it rusted through the tray and into the front horseshoe (see photos).
The Targa top fits great and has no blemishes. Appears to seal properly as well. The frame is in perfect condition and it folds up for storage easily.
Car has two keys, artial took kit, nd jack.
Missing the spare tire and the books.
