Description

Hey all, br>
It was my first car. It was my daily driver for a number of years, nd still starts right up on the first crank and runs like a top, ith NO leaks of any kind. The problem is that I never have an opportunity to drive the car anymore, and it makes no sense to let the car sit and not be taken care of.
For a little background: I got it back in 2006, nd it barely ran because the camshaft and tappets were toast. A new (used) cylinder head, ew water pump and tensioner, nd rebuilt fuel distributor and fuel pump brought her back up to good running order. The battery box was rebuilt as well. The brake hoses were replaced a year ago. The clutch and pressure plate are practically brand new as they were replaced two years ago due to a pilot bearing failure, nd have less than 1000 miles on them.
The shifter was replaced last year as well with an Only944.com unit. The transmission works perfectly with no grinding. The car also has a good sound system installed, ith silk dome tweeters mounted to the door panels and a powered sub behind the rear seats which can be removed easily if you'd prefer a more stock look. The starter was also replaced three years ago as the original finally gave out. There are numerous other things that have been done, ut they are escaping me at the moment.
As for the mileage, t is unknown as the speedometer that was in the car was not the original (date stamp '89).
Known issues -
The car will leak a few drops of coolant into the cabin. The car can be driven the way it is without worry of running low on coolant, ut it is something that should be addressed in the future.
The tires were replaced approximately 5 years ago, ave lots of tread, but are beginning to show some age. Again, an be driven just fine and would probably be fine for 5 more years, ut it may be something to consider.
There is a rattle when making hard right turns under throttle. I initially thought it was a bearing but after replacing the suspected (and loose) rear axle stub and associated bearings with new ones and still having the rattle, t may be a bad motor mount. I haven't done any more investigating into the issue as it is a recent development.
Lastly is cosmetics. While the paint is not bad it's a 7/10. It needs a little more polishing to get it back up to 10/10!
