CONDITION:
This rare and collectible beauty has been pampered all its life and is in impeccable condition. Every system works as it should and maintenance is fully up to date with strong records. Timing belt and water pump service included. No damage history; clean car fax. First thirty thousand miles or so spent in NM. or CA, nd never driven in winter here.
I'm obsessive about my car collection which emphasizes rare Porsches. So I fix or improve any deterioration or maintenance immediately or even before its needed. For example, y documents will show a timing service after less than two thousand miles but a few years. With this in mind, ere are the flaws that I believe are the only ones for this car. There is a one inch cut in the passenger seat which is superficial and doesn't fully penetrate. It hasn't grown in five years. There is a dime sized, oorly fixed stone chip on the edge of the hood. It is so unnoticeable on the black paint that I have not wanted to reprint the whole hood to match it in and fix this. There are some other stone chips on the front bumper too, ut hard to see unless searching. There is less than normal wear showing everywhere else and no major damage nor things needing repair.
I'm willing to offer a limited warranty with this purchase, s follows. If a Porsche dealership finds more than $500 in necessary repairs or improvements to qualify this vehicle's condition as listed herein, will either pay the full additional amount or return your full price and costs at my sole discretion. I also offer to bring the vehicle to the local Porsche dealer of your choice for a review prior to shipping in association with this limited warranty. In either event the warranty shall expire seven days after the auction close.
I am offering a limited waranty to validate the truly superior condition and authenticity of this rare vehicle. The pictures herein do not do justice. This car is in show winning condition and it qualifies for collector car financing with ten percent down.
APPOINTMENTS:
The Limited Edition placque on the dash indicates the car is number 120/259 made in this final year of production for this marque. This is not a Porsche designation, nd was likely a US dealer promotion. The chief of the Porsche registry for 968s has kindly informed me ( and would you too) that this is number 60 of an actual 259 of the final cars made since the Last three numbers of the VIN start with 60. It is also one of just eight vehicles with this color combination. It is, ndeed, rare and collectible car with very few miles and abrasions.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity specifies the options for this specific vehicle, s you can see in the photo. The original cassette radio is going with her, ut a Blaupunkt Toronto CD player is now installed. The original stereo is a Porsche high output model. There are pretty new Michelin Pilot Sport tires on original Porsche Cup Wheels that are very nice. A prior owner has a bra which I don't use but it will go along. There is a full tool set and air pump for the existent spar tire. The owner manuals and two keys are included. The original gray mats go too and look pretty good.
PERFORMANCE:
This car represents an investment in both financial and driving performance. Financially, orsches have been on fire in value escalation. This is one of the rarest of important Porsches, n its last year, ith very few miles in an appearance package that is usually most appealing. With reasonable care, his car should continue to improve in value. She can be shown successfully now and recently graced the cover of a regional PCA magazine. Not expensive or difficult to maintain or repair.
With 236 HP (as much as the 911 up until 1989), nd 225 lb ft, ou are propelled zero to sixty in between 5.6 to 5.9 seconds (depending upon the reference source). That's faster than all but a very very few special muscle cars. Top speed is almost 173. Weight distribution is balanced 50/50. The exhaust note is music. Truly a joy to drive and incredibly reliable.
