Running/Driving Sunroof Super!

Recently out of the dry American Southwest! Kardex and COA do not show a sunroof option, however it is known that these cars often left the factory without documentation.

This 1600 Super car was owner by a PCA member whom had "too many in (his) collection," where it resided in New Mexico for a number of years. The engine was refurbished with 82mm pistons and Weber carbs. The transaxle was updated to a late '60 - 741 unit, and some brake work completed to the extent that it could drive down the street - some more light servicing will be needed to be able to drive longer distances.

This car originally came in the desirable silver metallic paint according to the Kardex (a copy of which is included in the photos). Panel fit is excellent, with chassis still retaining the original clips. This car has never been hit! Original tar paper attests to this in both engine compartment and trunk.

The interior is still mostly original and usable, though tired. A very complete car, a few exceptions exist such as tools, overrider tubes and bumper guards. The engine number is very close in sequence, but off nonetheless.

While there are no certain figures on how many 356A-1600S coupes were made, it is believed to be around 23%, or only 3,100! The A-coupes in restorable condition are becoming VERY hard to find! This is an excellent example for cosmetic restoration!
