1986 944 Turbo. I purchased in September of 2013 and had shipped to STL from San Fransisco, life long California car except for the 3 years in my garage. Has been completely reliable for the few thousand miles I've driven it on nice days. Roughly 3,000 miles prior to my purchase the car got the following: new front control arms, radiator (aluminum Modine unit), timing belt, water pump, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (245/45/17 rear, 225/40/17 front). At some point in the recent past the door and hatch seals were replaced. Records show a repaint in the early 2000's. I have literally hundreds of service records going back decades. The odometer failed shortly after I got the car and I haven't bothered to fix what's commonly a broken drive gear in the unit, it went from showing 126,00, to 336,000. True mileage is supported by all of the more recent service records and the car now has roughly 130,000. It also has a recent factory correct carpet set installed, the dash is extremely good with no cracking on the main surfaces, just some micro cracking around the small defroster vents up by the windshield. A/C works well and was changed to R-134 in 2013. Car drives extremely well. Mild upgrades from previous owner(s) include upgraded head gasket, flow-matched fuel injectors, higher pressure fuel regulator, upgraded turbo unit (was told to same spec as later cars, some documentation of this) manual boost controller, dual port wastegate, 18 psi chip set. Tons of money has been spent on making this a really fun, fast, good handling car, everyone that drives it loves it. It has a minor valve cover gasket leak (just a few drops over extended periods of sitting in the garage), a few minor paint blemishes, not noticeable until pointed out to most people, and the power mirrors only operate manually, and an intermittent exhaust heat shield rattle. Super dry and clean underneath with no rust ever. Couple minor blemishes on seats. Over all a very nice driver quality 951. Message with questions or for more pictures. Vehicle listed locally as well, so auction could end early. New Missouri title is being processed and will be available by auction close or within a few days thereof. On Jul-28-16 at 11:54:24 PDT, seller added the following information:
Correction-I should have typed that the odometer failed before, not after my purchase.
On Jul-28-16 at 16:27:25 PDT, seller added the following information:Also forgot to list, the car has Koni yellow shocks/struts, per previous owner. I've never opened up the front strut assemblies, but the rear shocks were easily confirmed by looking, and the handling supports what I was told.
On Jul-30-16 at 09:34:32 PDT, seller added the following information:I should've mentioned that the steering wheel is a MOMO "Race" model, with quick release hub. I added a picture showing the extension piece with the finishing ring and horn button.
