Excellent condition mechanically and good condition aesthetically, this Boxster S (6spd manual) has been meticulously maintained. This is an excellent driver’s car – daily drive it and/or take it to the track/AutoX on the weekend. I’m moving on to a larger car for daily & track duties, so I’m letting the Boxster go to a good new home. Car is located in Charleston, SC. The title is clean and in-hand.
Upon purchasing (I’m the 3rd owner), I overhauled the car and addressed all potential failure items, most notably replacing the Intermediate Shaft Bearing with a new bearing. The old IMS was in perfect condition, which was a relief, but I gained peace of mind with the replacement. The RMS was replaced @ 68k miles by Jim Ellis Porsche prior to my ownership with the updated 997 part and does not leak. New clutch & flywheel were also done with that service @ 68k, and they showed no signs of wear. I replaced the IMS seal as well, so there are absolutely zero leaks from the rear of the engine. The car does not burn any oil or coolant. Other major and costly items that were recently addressed – I just replaced the brake rotors, brake pads, and tires (Hankook Ventus V12) at all 4 corners and had the car aligned. In addition to the standard maintenance items, the engine mount was upgraded to the 987 Porsche part, and I added a soft engine mount insert as well as upgrading the transmission mounts with semi-solid units from FUNCTION-FIRST Performance. The stock shifter was tired and throws were like a rowboat, so I added a short shift kit with Function-First Classic Delrin shift knob to resolve that. I also just replaced the soft top with a brand new black canvas and rear window. The interior is in very good condition, and all buttons/electronics in the cabin work.
Full Transparency…This is a driver’s car more so than a show car, so there are a couple things to note – Interior: the driver seat has bolster wear on the outside, the driver door pull has some scratches; Exterior: there is a scratch on the trunk lid, a scuff on the rear bumper above the license plate, and there is a ding with paint chip on the rear qtr panel, the right front fender was repainted at some point so there is one area where the clear coat is fading, and 2 of the 4 wheels are showing some curb rash. There is only 1 key for the car, and it needs to be programmed for the remote to work with the central alarm unit. The alarm works, but to enter the car you need to manually turn the key in the door lock.
