The acceleration and handling are very responsive and precise, and the race-bred Porsche brakes provide the required stopping power. The pleasant purr of the 4.8-liter V-8, an aluminum engine block with four overhead camshafts and Porsche's Variocam variable-valve timing, makes it sound finely tuned, and the specs show 405 horsepower at 6,500rpm, and 369 foot-pounds of torque at 3,500rpm. Porsche claims 5.7 seconds from 0 to 60 mph.The Porsche GTS offers a wide array of capabilities---it can tow more than 7700 pounds---and has steering and brake feel that one expects in a sports sedan. The Cayenne GTS offers the most sports car-like handling of any SUV. The adjustable air suspension is very flexible, offering both a terrific, supple, well-controlled ride in the comfort setting and a fair amount of precision in the sport setting, all sorts of tricks to morph the Cayenne GTS from high-clearance, all-terrain vehicle to road-hugging canyon carver.
