Purchased new in California, where the car has spent its entire life. Purchased new 1-27-1995. Sold by Hoehn Motors in Carlsbad, CA. Well maintained and documented service by Porsche of Beverly Hills, CA for its entire life. No expenses were spared or compromises made. The car has been a daily driver since new, and never has it lacked maintenance. If something needed addressed or was recommended by the dealer service department, it was performed every time. Book of maintenance records to go with the car including recent CA-SMOGcertificate. This car will notdisappoint.
Vehicle does not have anyhesitation when starting and holds a smooth idle. Engine performs flawlessly with no loud lifter ticks or strange noises. Mobil1 Oil has been used since the beginning and it does not leakoil, as most do. This car is completely dry.Thepower band is very smooth and pulls hard. Shiftingthrough the 6-speed manualtransmission is smooth and without any complaint. The clutch isoriginal on thevehicle and does not slip. For transparency, we would like to mention the onlynoteworthy item of the mechanical condition. Although it does not effect the operation, engagement of the clutch is towards the last 1/2 - 3/4 of the pedal throw. It may require a new pedal spring (although this has not beenprofessionally diagnosed) asoccasionally the pedal will not return to its intended starting position. If this does occur,drivability is not inhibited, only the pedal placement is changed. It can be returned to itsoriginal intended starting position by a few pumps or simple pull of thepedal.
This Carrera handles great and is very tight. There are no weird rattles, squeaks, or quirks when going down the road. Suspension is not tired and does not pitch in corners, but still absorbs the bumps andimperfections of the road asyou'd expect of a luxury cruiser. The best way to describe the sensation of the driving experience of this vehicle would be as if you were transported back to the year 1998 to go for a test drive in the car after it was returned on a lease.
Very Cold AC. All windows and moonroof open and close as they should. 2 keys, plus a valet key. Owners manual. Original spare tire with Porsche compressor. Originalheadunit with 6 disc CD changer under the bonnet. Bridgestone Potenza tires all around, in good shape. All original and unmodified. Very minimalwear on the driver seat, and throughout the interior. This example has been garaged since new and the paint shows that with high gloss. There is absolutely no rustanywhere with no door dings or dents. Thevehicle is verystraight, with some minor imperfections as noted inthe pictures below. Mostnoteworthy is some damage to the front bumper and small scrape on the front deck lid thatoccurredwhile thevehicle was being parked in the garage. One of the rear wheels also hasreceived some curb rash on the face of the spokes.
Overall, this is a very honest car with nothing to hide.
