This is a nice unrestored 1975 Porsche 914. I own a car dealership here in Memphis,Tn. This was a trade in to us on a BMW Z4 roadster. The prior owner used this as a hobby car and it appears to be well sorted. I have driven this car on interstate I-40 at speeds of 90 mph and it holds it's own quite well.

From the best of my abilit, I would call this car a nice unrestored example, let's call it a driver. . The paint is an older re-spray and the car would benefit from a respray and current paint is commensurate with perhaps a $1200 job. It has defects, as you would expect an older (cheap) paint job to have. The pictures do a nice job. Definately not a Porsche grade paint job, despite being shiny.

The interior appears original. Dash has a cap on it, but looks decent. The ashtray cover is not affixed, prior owner glued it, I still have it, but best plan would be to buy a new ashtry here on ebay.

The engine runs quite well, does not smoke, and accelleration is brisk. I enjoyed flying around in this car for a day. The five speed transmission seems fine. It shifts through all the gears. The synchro between 1st and second sometimes makes noise, after I drove the car all day, I was shifiting effortlessly with no noise. The linkage seems like it would benefit from new bushings as the shift pattern is vague. The prior owner installed a hidden starter switch under the armrest, as he didn't want the car to be stolen.

The car is lots of fun to drive..With a good Ipod or MP3 C, and the top down and some sunshine, it can't be beat...It looks great and is really zippy. I have driven it up to 90mph or so, and it holds its own. If you are familiar with older Porsche cars and all of their little nuances, this would be a great car for you.

In no way am I calling the car perfect or otherwise..It's 41 years old (as old as me, and I'm OLD)..Old cars require constant upkeep in one way or another..You will always be working on them. This car has had quite a bit of money spent on it in the last few years, so you'll be ahead of most...The fundamentals are nice..good engine..new wheels, tires, brakes, battery..and a solid body... My best educated guess is that this car is worth around $13,500 or so. I'm going to offer it without reserve. Bid whatever you think it possibly is worth.

As you can see, the interior is nice. As I mentioned earlier, car needs a new ashtray.

Unusual Giagaro Ital design steering wheel was an option with a package in 1975. I have never seen one.

Remember, 1975 is still in the cold-war era! Hence made in Western Germany. There was a wall!

The engine starts right up and runs well. I drove the car around with the top down for an afternoon and had a great time. The car attracts LOTS of attention!

In summary, this is a neat old 914 that needs a new home. If you have been dreaming about one of these cars for years, now is your chance!
