A long time client and discerning local collector ordered the car new. adding it to his significant stable following more than a year of back and forth with Porsche about painting the car in Peru Red. a factory color introduced in 1974 that provided the owner a bit of nostalgia for a 911S that he’d owned in the mid 1970s. For Porsche to agree to finish a 911 in a paint-to-sample color. three cars have to be slated for that color. causing them to be resistant from the onset of the order. After prolonged discussion and realizing that the owner had been an exceptionally loyal customer over the past fifty years. Porsche finally relented. justifying their rule by painting two of their show cars in Peru Red in addition to this gorgeous example. Consequently. this is the only privately owned Peru Red 991 in existence.
