Thank you for looking at my beautiful 1974 Porsche 916 GT 2 door targa top. I purchased this car in 2002 at Barrett Jackson; I was told that my car started out at Santa Monica Porsche. which is no longer around its Beverly Hills Porsche. It was a 914. and the dealership changed it to a 916 GT. They replaced the engine with a six cylinder and did the customizing GT. front bumper. fenders. side skirts. quarter panel flares. deck lid spoiler and rear bumper. The bodywork was and is unbelievable craftsmanship. There isn’t any rust on this car as you can see from the many photos. The paint is still very nice. true Porsche color “Guards Red “and is DuPont basecoat. clear coat paint. The car was a California car until 2002. When the car arrived in Indiana at my shop in 2002. I changed out the rims and tires. to three-piece BBS honeycomb with Pirelli super sport ZR rated. The front tires are 205/50/16. rear 225/50/16. I updated the engine performance. from a 2. 4 to 2. 7 engine it is a factory case that went from 2. 5 to 2. 7 piston jugs. The case is studded. It has a custom-built aluminum air box. Bosh fuel injection and headers with catalytic converters with chrome tips. This eliminated the car's heater. the defroster motor is still installed and in perfect working condition. The interior was updated with leather dash pad – center console with gauges. The interior was stripped down to bare metal. painted with Por 15 then reinsulated with Dynamat insulation. Heavy wool carpet padding covered with new carpeting and removable custom mats installed. added the Konig performance seats. The suspension was changed out to Koni adjustable struts in the front and adjustable shocks in the rear. The car has won many concourses. along with local car shows. The car was stored every winter. the reason I’m selling it after owning it for over a decade is I had a disk fusion in my lower back and it causes me great discomfort to sit in and get out of the car. I made the decision to sell when I was getting it ready to store after only driving it twice this year. There are some minor paint chips. but overall still absolutely beautiful. (See pictures). The only other known issue is that the first gear Synchro is out on the car. First gear itself does still work. Note: Update to the listing is that there is a 911 brake system and the flares are Fiberglass.
