1968 Porsche 911L

1968 Porsche 911LThis is the 28th 911L built for the 1968 model year and has a July 1967 production date. Since this car is so early in the production run. it has a blend of 1967 and 1968 features. Many of the DOT regulations were imposed in September of 1967. so this car retains many European features despite being a car for the US market. This car did not have the typical 1968 reflectors nor does it have the break-away rearview mirror. While this car started its life as a Sportomatic car (7th production car to be exact). the transmission was replaced in the mid nineties for a 902/01 5 speed manual transmission. The non-original. but period correct aluminum cased engined was rebuilt at Air Cooled Classics in Knoxville. nbsp;Tennessee in 2011 and has approximately 2000 miles on it since. Two of the 4 5. 5x15 Fuchs wheels are stamped 7/67 to match the build date and the the other 2 are 8/67 and 9/67 (which are very close). The spare wheel still wears the original tire and is a 4/67 Lemmerz steel wheel. which is original to the car. The interior is completely original. but is missing the radio. Even though the photos speak for themselves. please don't hesitate to ask any questions about the car. I've owned it for the past 4 years and am only selling to focus on finishing some other Porsche projects.
