1929 ROLLS ROYCE 20 Twenty Tourer H. J. Mulliner with documentationI took this car out today for a 10 mile drive! Temp up to 70C on an 80F degree daywith no troubles. Drives straight and stops as it should. I will try to post a video! Text me and I might be able to send it direct. Oil pressure in engine is good is at 20 - 25 psi as you go down the road. Gauge only goes to 30psi. I have Docs (chassis Gen 77 engine and oil pan U3K) supporting that this is the original engine with chassis and dyno charts from the factory. Chassis also has a plate that says gen77 underneath at the foot pedal area. Frame is rust free. fenders and body are factory aluminum. engine compartment is gorgeous. and the doors open and close excellent. Interior is nice and has tan leather seats with no rips. It is a 4 speed. right hand drive car that is a beautiful piece of history. This car can be enjoyed as is or a perfect candidate for a full restoration. I have detailed documents from the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club (RREC) located in the UK and from some previous owners. The history is as follows (the best I can determine): This unique car was originally ordered by Vacuum Oil Company for Charles Kearley Esq. (1929)with a special discount of 2 ½% because of the association with Colonel R. G. Bloomfield. Coachwork was originally to be performed by Weymann to become a limousine. Prior to delivery to Weymann it was changed to become an open air Tourer by HJ Mulliner. The car was sold to Albert Hall Mansions in Kensington in 1931. The documents say that in 1944 it was owned by Squadron Leader R. Mottram RAF. Mottram was a WWII Britsh Flying ACE from squadron 92 and 54. Mottram was shot down in 1941. For whatever reason the car was not recorded in RR records until 1944 but his name is in the RR club as a owner. The next owner I have on record is Paddon Brothers to M. Dudley in 1958. Paddon Brothers was the king of reselling Rolls Royce cars in England and eventually worked in part with RR. At there shop brakes were rebuilt and the car inspected. The car was titled here in the United States in 1970. The owner at this time was Alex B. and was in communication with John Fasal who is known for the writing of the book “Twenty”. I have a copy of a handwritten letter to Fasal dated 1974. I am the current owner and there is paperwork and invoices through the 70’s on this car. This is a unique one of a kind RR. as some of them are. with a complete open air design without a top or provisions of one at any time. The door design is such that I have not seen on any Rolls Royce to date.
