I believe I'm the third owner on this car (with the second owner being a California dealer who said he was selling this for an estate in southern California). I've had the car since 2008 and have been taking it to a Rolls Royce specialty shop in Hayward. California for maintenance. It's been running well for me. It just passed smog during it's last oil change and maintenance visit in December 2014. Due to a recent spine issue. I no longer enjoy driving (let alone waxing cars and reaching/contorting around to condition vehicle interior leather). so as comfortable as this car is. it needs to go to a new owner who will enjoy driving and taking care of it. This is a 1989 Silver Spirit "20K series" sedan (manufactured in November 1988) with a non-standard hard roof option (instead of the typical vinyl). Its original Rolls Royce paint is medium deep blue in strong sunlight (with hints of purplish-blue. similar to what you might see in some sapphire crystals. from various angles on the sides). After sunset. or in fog. the car is a very formal/classy deep. dark blue color. That said. I'm going to try to describe the car's imperfections to the best of my ability. As a fellow Ebayer for over a decade. I pride myself in my 100% positive feedback and want to make sure that good experiences continue for everyone here. While very flashy. this is not a show-quality car. so please don't expect absolute perfection. As with any 25-year-old car. there are some imperfections in the paint (a few light short scratches/scuffs and a couple of small rock dings). The most noteworthy shortcomings (in my opinion). is a little paint issue of some sort on the rear passenger side roof (as shown). as well as several inches of painted-over "rough edges" on both driver-side doors (also as shown). The car came like this without explanation. Being an estate sale. I presume the prior elderly owner somehow dinged the doors when they were open. and had them non-professionally repaired. I tried to show this in some close-up photos. When the car is cleaned and waxed. a lot of these imperfections are not as noticeable -- just as with any dark paint vehicle. In the photos. you'll notice some black missing from one of the windshield wiper arms (exposing the chrome beneath). The interior of the car is in excellent condition. especially considering its age. It smells strongly of leather and wood. The original lamb floor mats are included. I did replace the old CD player and the car's outdated internal amp with a relatively cheap new one (with USB capabilities); the USB cable is not currently connected to the back of the CD player. but it will be included. The original owner appears to have had other equipment installed in the car at one time. An apparent old cellular phone accessory (little plastic black box) remains installed behind the rear window - a true relic from the early 1990s. Additionally. there is one hole-cut inside the tray area beneath the arm rests for some sort of former equipment to run wires. as well as two very tiny screw holes visible in the bottom-most leather beneath the rear seats (I didn't notice the tiny screw holes until listing the car for this auction -- they're really not noticeable). The only leather aging I can find is a small spot between the rear passenger leather headrests. Please refer to the pictures for these imperfections. The Goodyear tires have tread left. but they're old and you'll probably want to replace them soon. Additionally. there are a couple of electrical curiosities. Currently. the wipers are not returning all of the way down (what is shown on the photos is as far as they'll go at the moment). The shop I take it to found the problem (a disconnected wire) and fixed the issue. but the wire apparently came lose again. Also. the interior lights don't want to go on when one of the rear doors is opened (but all of the interior lights are otherwise in working order). The car includes a tool kit. two keys (one owner key and one valet key). and spare mineral oil. It does not include an instruction manual (it did not come with one when I purchased it from the dealer). Please e-mail me with any questions -- including requests for more/specific photos. The car is available for in-person inspection for anyone who would like to see it and test drive it before bidding. If you bid. please have a positive feedback score of 10 or more. or otherwise contact me first. Happy bidding!NOTE: I may add a few miles on the car during this auction (under 100 miles). This has been a working. useful vehicle for me. I will update the mileage as changes occur.
