1972 Rolls Royce Corniche Coupe – No Reserve Auction! VIN: CRA12809 with clean. no lien. title. All original vehicle with all original parts. except stereo. Black vinyl top on beautiful black paint. Tan pin stripe. Chrome bumpers. nbsp; badge-bar. grill. flying lady hood ornament. and headlight bezels are in exceptional condition. Wheel covers are near perfect. Vinyl top is perfect! This car has the highly desired chrome bumpers… before they were changed in later model years. I have personally owned this car for almost two years. Vehicle shows 89. XX miles on odometer. I purchased this car from an 80 year old Greek Doctor who owned the car for more than 20 years. (Notice the “Greek Flag” badge on front license plate bracket) I do not know any history prior to that. When I purchased the car I put in a new 7-Year battery. replaced several fuel lines. replaced canister fuel filter with Wick furnace filter sourced from England. I replaced the dual SU fuel pump with a new factory original ($350). Replaced all in-line fuel filters at carbs and replaced the o-rings at carbs. Replaced one carb bowl float. Engine ran flawlessly with no smoke or engine noise. Transmission was rebuilt in 2009 by prior owner. When car sits for a long time the rear seal will seep on transmission. I also replaced the Speedometer Cable with new factory OEM part. Brake reservoir tank has been disassembled and thoroughly cleaned and fluid replaced with RR363 proper fluid. From information I have gathered it appears this car was originally a tan or gold in color with factory black top. It of course. is now black in color. Whoever painted the car did an excellent job and I believe it to be a lacquer job from sometime in the 1980’s. I do not know this for sure. but I am familiar with how paint polishes out and this car has exceptional depth of shine and stunning good looks. There are of course chips. small scratches and a few dings normal to a car of this age and 30 year-old paint job. The bonnet (hood) is flawless as the pictures show. The boot lid (trunk) has a few small scratches-cracks. barely noticeable. The lower portion of the rear panel next to rear bumper has some of the usual spider cracking in the paint. The left quarter panel has one ding approximately ½” in size. The right rear quarter panel has a slight dent and scratch approximately 18” long. The scratch has been touched up and is not very noticeable. The right front fender has a chip and some cracking around it about 5” long. The right side rocker panel has a dent approximately 30” long where prior owner hit a parking block with the vehicle. I have tried to show this in two of the photos. This dent is not visible unless you are down looking under the car and does not affect the operation of the door. Also. a small dent on passenger side front valence. Interior of the car: Headliner is in excellent condition. Rear seat has no tears or rips and is in average condition for 43 years old. Front seats are cracked and have a few rips as shown in pictures. I did not change them out as I know some folks like the pateena of the old leather. Armrests are cracked as well. Put a set of lambs-wool covers on the front seats and you would have a very nice interior. Carpet is in excellent condition with no apparent wear. stains or tears. Dash pad is exceptional in this car. no wear or cracks. All instrumentation on the dash appears original except for the radio. It has a newer style Blaupunkt head unit. Dash walnut has some small cracking in the varnish. usual to the age of a car like this but still is very nice. Rest of bright-work (wood) in car is there and original. Back window wood has some discoloration and would clean up and re-varnish nicely. Boot area has original two-tone carpet. repainted battery area box. good weather stripping and chrome in boot. Also. has original jack. wrench in bag. Tires are older matching radials - Uniroyal – Royal Seals. Backs are probably 60% and fronts are 40% with wear on edges. Engine compartment is factory original and very clean with functional cruise control. air-conditioning. etc. The car is currently not driveable due to needing a new or rebuilt brake master cylinder which is located under driver side door. It is leaking badly. It will need to be replaced and brakes bled in order to have functional brakes on the car. This is the reason car is up on jack-stands in photos. I have been looking for a factory one. not the cheap knockoffs and have not located one yet – they are out there. The car has been sitting for a few months while looking for this part and now will not start and keep running. I believe the other carb float is leaking and flooding the fuel system. Floats and gaskets are readily available. Winning bidder will need to trailer or flatbed vehicle home. You will need a winch to winch it onto truck rollback or trailer. With all of this said. this is a very nice vehicle. It needs some slight cosmetic work and a little mechanical work and you will have a wonderful classic luxury car. I simply do not have the time to work on it due to new employment and moving from current home to a new location. I need to have it out of my garage soon!! Vehicle is in as-is condition and there are no warranties implied or expressed in this description. I will not ship or deliver this vehicle. Winning bidder must pay $2. 00 down by Pay-Pal only at time of winning bid. Remainder must be paid within 7-days by Pay-Pal only. Vehicle must be picked up at my location with 10-days of winning bid. This is a NO-RESERVE auction! Please do not bid unless you are serious about owning this vehicle.
