One Owner 1972 MGB GT I am helping my friend Beth sell her MGB GT since she does not have an eBay account. Beth bought this car new in 43 years ago from BMC of Seattle. She has always had the car professionally maintained and has always kept it garaged. It has 70. 75 original miles on it. It runs and drives like new. It is rust free. Although not a show car. it presents very well. It received a high end repaint in 2001. The seats and door cards were reupholstered by a local shop in 2006. The seating surfaces are leather. I have owned 4 MGBs and still own 2. I’ve rebuilt one completely and know these cars well. This one runs and drives with the best. It is tight. no rattles or shakes. Steering is precise with no play. The engine starts easily. makes good power. doesn’t smoke. and has a smooth idle. The non over drive transmission is quiet and all syncros work well. Tires are near new. I would not hesitate to take this car on a long road trip tomorrow. Beth has complete records of all maintenance and repairs. Recent mechanical work includes a rebuilt cylinder head in 2013. new alternator in 2007. water pump in 2006. and fuel pump in 2005. The carburetors have just been gone through and adjusted. The 2001 repaint was a color change from the original Aqua to Teal Blue which was also a 1972 factory color. There are no dings or chips that I could find. The paint shines beautifully. All panels are quite straight. The door jambs. under hood. and rear hatch surround were all done with the repaint. The spare tire compartment and engine bay were not. The interior was nicely redone. It shows somewhat gray in the pictures. but is actually a dark blue like this shot of the driver’s door panel. The seats and panels look like new. The carpet has not been redone and is original. Factory rubber door sills and starter cover are still in place. There is a 3” crack in the dash over the glove box. Not real noticeable. but it is there. The original radio is in the console. but a modern stereo has been added in the glove box. There is no rust on this car that I could find and certainly no rust through. Very rare for a 43 year old MGB. The car is what I would call a very nice driver. Hop in and go anywhere and look good doing it. It would fit in at a local car show. but would need some cosmetic freshening here and there to trophy at a regional All British Field Meet. This is a quite special MGB in that it is a true low mileage one owner car that has been babied and well cared for its whole life. Many more photos of the car here The car is located in Bellingham. WA. You may pick up the car in person. or I will help load the car on the carrier of your choice. Payment must be made in full within 3 working days following auction close via wire transfer.
