Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this unique and well-documented MGC GT. on sale for the first time ever in the U. S. The MGC is a relatively rare car. even rarer stateside. but what makes this particular car so interesting is its history. This was THE car used in the 1971 Autocar Magazine used car test (Click here for a PDF of the article. -- it's a fascinating read). The car was later given a documented exterior restoration in the early 1990s before the current owner purchased it. He has owned the MG for over twenty years. using it as a fair weather driver and driving it across Europe to watch the races at LeMans. He imported it to the US when he moved here six years ago -- it is currently registered in Georgia and all import documentation is included. Also included is extensive service history and UK registration history. all neatly organized in a three ring binder. Mechanically this MGC GT is in good condition -- it runs and drives well and is highly optioned with overdrive. Webasto sunroof. original leather front seat upholstery. a gorgeous Moto-Lita wood wheel and Lucas driving lights. The 3. 0 liter straight six pulls strong and is quite smooth; it does leak a little oil but we have yet to find a MG that doesn't. Nice stainless Bell silencers exhaust. Spax gas shocks in the rear significantly improve handling. The paint is starting to show its age with some crazing and a few dents and dings. However. it's hard to deny that the overall look with the double hood bulges and clean. purposeful lines is wonderful. Original floors are in good condition. Leather front seats are original and show patina appropriate for the car's age. For more information about this MGCGT available at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta. please call 404-692-5250.
